Introduction

Hey guys, so first of all you have to know that this is my first build/guide, and I'm not English so my writing isn't perfect.
I hope you'll enjoy it, if you have any criticism just leave a comment below or contact me ingame, my nick is Stampyy.

There are two different build there for Renekton. The first one is based on a good early game where you can rape your opponent and get farmed, with this build you really want to be agressive otherwise you'll be really weak late game.
Now, the second and most commun build is the tanky crocodile we all love, almost unkillable with his ultimate but still doing some huge damage with Atma's

Renekton's skills

Passive: Reign of Anger - Renekton gains 5 Fury per attack. Having 50 or more Fury empowers his abilities with bonus effects but drains 50 Fury when they are used. Out of combat, he loses 5 Fury every 2 seconds. When Renekton is below 50% Health, Fury gains are increased by 50%.

Q: Cull The Meek - Renekton swings his blade, dealing 40 / 70 / 100 / 130 / 160 (+0.6 per bonus attack damage) damage to nearby enemies and healing for 10% of the damage dealt, up to 50 / 75 / 100 / 125 / 150.

When Renekton has more than 50 Fury he deals 50% additional damage and heals for 15% of the damage dealt, the healing hard cap is tripled. Consumes 50 Fury.

W: Ruthless Predator - Renekton's next attack swings twice, dealing 5 / 15 / 25 / 35 / 45 (+0.75 per attack damage) damage per hit, stunning his target for 0.75 seconds and applying on-hit effects.

When Renekton has more than 50 Fury, his next attack will swing three times dealing 5 / 15 / 25 / 35 / 45 (+0.75 per attack damage) damage per hit and stunning his target for 1.5 seconds. Consumes 50 Fury.

E: Slice and Dice - Slice: Renekton dashes forward, dealing 45 / 75 / 105 / 135 / 165 (+0.6 per bonus attack damage) damage to targets along the way. If he hits a target he gains the ability to use Dice.

Dice: Renekton dashes, dealing 45 / 75 / 105 / 135 / 165 (+0.6 per bonus attack damage) damage along the way. When Renekton has more than 50 Fury during Dice, he deals 50% additional damage and shreds the armor of targets he hits by 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 for 4 seconds. Consumes 50 Fury.

Ultimate: Dominus - Renekton empowers himself with dark energies, gaining increased size and 300 / 450 / 600 health for 15 seconds. While empowered, he deals 50 / 75 / 100 (+10% of ability power) magic damage to nearby enemies and generates 5 Fury per second.

TL;DR: As Renekton is an agressive early-game orientated character, you really want to stack that fury up to 100 and then dash throught minions to get to your oppoent then W+Q him and his health bar might get pretty low.

Runes

Armor penetration is quite needed on Renekton or any other AD character in my opinion, so armpen Marks and Quints.

MR glyphs because you might take damage from casters
CDR glyphs can also be a choice because Renekton has some sick abilities and in team fights, you'll use your skills more than auto attacks.

Armor seals to have good early game survivability and they will able you to be more agressive on your top lane opponent.

Flat AD quints for additional early game damage

Items

Core items:

Start off with a boots and three health pots or cloth armor and five health pots, they will allow you to stay on your lane for quite a long time and might save you from ganks.
Getting Ionian boots of Lucidity for CDR or Mercury treads with ennemy team has loads of cc's.
Buy at least one or two wards to avoid you from ganks! 75g vs The risk to die, wanna try?
Wriggle's for the sustain it gives you and for the free ward.
Brutaliser for the CDR and the additional attack damage can be a choice.
Then go for a Frozen mallet, gives you more health, more damage and an awesome passive!

Offensive items:
If you think you are already tanky enough you can get a Bloodthirster.
If the game is long enough finish off your Youmuu's Ghostblade and get elixirs.
You can also buy a Black Cleaver instead of Youmuu's Ghostblade or Bloodthirster, depends on what you prefer.

Defensive items:
Sunfire cape's passive perfectly scales with Renekton's ultimate and this item gives you armor and health really great.
Well.. Now you got about 3k health why wouldn't you get an Atma's Empaler? Great passive, and it gives you more armor and some critical chances.
Mercury Slash is a really good item against characters like Mordekaiser, Malzahar, Warwick.. Because of its passive
Force of Nature can also be usefull against some AP teams
Thornmails if your opponents have lot's of AD.

Don't forgoet to buy wards every time you go back to base!!

Summoner Spells

As summoner spells, I use Ghost and Flash for pretty personal reasons, lot's of spells are viable on Renekton, such as:
-Flash, but Renekton's E is a kind of a flash already so I'd rather pick Ghost.
-Ignite
-Teleport, gives you more mobility and map control, quite good to have in a team
-Heal, now a decent choice on top laners with that flash nerf
--Cleanse, Renekton has good defensive stats but if you're scared of Rammus's ganks for exemple it can be a good choice

Spells not to take:
-Clarify, didn't know that Renekton needed mana?
-Revive, you just died? Ok let's go in the fight and die once more!
-Clairvoyance, more for supports..
-Smite, Renekton is a great laner, why would you go into the jungle?

Farming

Renekton is one of the most powerfull character in early game, so use this at your advantage! Try to grab the firstblood if you think you can, this extra money will help you a lot, but don't risk too much. Try to push your opponents away from xp and only attack minions for last hits.

Laning match-ups

Akali:
Akali is a champion that snowballs a lot, you really want to dominate her in the first levels, get her to base if you can, even if Renekton is supposed to beat her, always be carefull against her and ask for early ganks.

Chogath
A lot of Cho's will rush Frozen Heart against heavy AD tops, it's frustrating, punish him early if you can, a lot of times you're going to have to just farm fest against Cho. You can out sustain him with your Q and wriggle's, he'll eventually run out of mana. Try to keep him off your turret if it's an even match so you have an easier time last-hitting.

Galio
Galio doesn't do very well against AD characters, especially when the AD characters have sustain. Attack him a lot, he can't do much against you.

Jax
Another hero you need to punish early if possible. Once Jax hits 6 and starts racking up stacks on his ultimate he will hurt you, and he will hurt you a lot.

Irelia
You should be able to win against her early game but later she'll really rape you, ask for gank and don't let her farm.

Nasus
Easy to deny him early game, don't let him farm his Q, he'll need to blow is mana whispering you so be agressive against him and ask for gank if it's really needed.

Rumble
Attack him when he has 0 or so heating it will save you from taking to much damage, you should win against him except if he gets a good early gank and be able to get armor.

Ryze
Basically same as Rumble.

Singed
Pretty lame to play against, care of the poison ask for early gank, rush merc threads and you should be ok.

Sion
Keep breaking his shield so he can't farm and he'll be useless later.

Udyr
Not much you can do against him, get armor, ask for early gank, try to get wriggles as fast as possible to have some sustain.

Karthus
Should be ok till you're agressive.

Gangplank
Start with cloth armor and 5 health pots, it should able you to sustain his harassment, ask for an early gank and be agressive on him so he gets scared.

Garen
Don't pick Renekton if you know your opponent has Garen, his harassing is just to big and you won't deal any damage on him.

Malphite
He is THA armor-stacking guy, be agressive in first levels, try to outlane him early because after a while you wont even be able to break his shield.

Nidalee
Bruser Nidalee is probably the lamest thing ever, be agressive before she hits 6 and then be carefull.
If Nidalee is AP you should be fine, be agressive, try to avoid her Q's.

Kassadin
Pretty easy to play against, you can just deny him, he'll harass you with his Q but he won't be able to farm.

Lee Sin
Don't let him shield up before you start attacking him and dont let him jump you when you have CD's, you can go wriggles, chain vest and bruta against him.

Riven
She has mobility, huge burst and shield so yeah, she's hard to deal with, ask for early ganks get armor and wriggles or she'll outlane you pretty easily.

Talon
Talon will harass you with his W, just be agressive in early levels and you should be fine with a wriggles.

Kennen
Kennen is really hard to play against, you can't really handle his damage so ask for early ganks and get negatron's cloak asap.

Summary

There it is, this guide is over, hope it will be usefull for anyone. If there's anything I'd improve just tell me and I'll try to. Constructive criticisms are always welcome.
Remember: When you're playing Renekton you need to be agressive in early levels otherwise you'll be outlaned by most champions after 15 minutes.
