Taking HP per level yellows will do nothing during laning basically, and the addition of say what, 180 HP at level 18 is barely anything, taking dodge here to synergize with the defensive tree is the smarter choice, or even armor yellows will work but HP per level yellows are definitely not worth it for Renekton. As for your blues, CDR per level is also not worth it for Renekton as with a Brutalizer, Ionian Boots, and a spirit visage if you decide to run it (a phenomenal midgame item allowing you heal ALOT of damage taken during teamfights DURING the teamfight, not to mention the CDR and the MR), so if anything run flat CDR runes OR use MR runes, scaling ones or flat ones, your choice but definitely a good choice as Renekton is a little bit AP weak.. The HP quints will not help you, a mere 72 HP will scale into nothing, and early game you shouldn't really be worried about your HP as maxing Q first will give you absolute dominance in the lane. I prefer MS quints so you can catch up to people.

I prefer ghost over flash on Renekton, a flash may be able to enable you to land a last hit on an enemy champion but that's only a single burst of your skills, ghost will enable you to walk along with them and burst them mutiple times during the duration of ghost, adding on the MS quints, there's no way they'll be able to get away from you, I also prefer ignite over exhaust for personal preferences but that matters not. If you insist on taking the exhaust, you can go a 1/21/8, taking the experience boost in the utility tree and the exhaust mastery in the offensive tree, but if you decide to take another spell other than exhaust, you can go 0/21/9 taking the added buff duration.

As for your skill order, I would take Q first unless you're having a level 1 teamfight, and getting E second, as you won't be able to close the distance to use your W without E anyways, and with E at level 2 you can always do a E Q AA E quick burst, instead of standing around trying to catch them in a W. You can get a single level of W at level 4, but you may say "What? but I thought E was the one-point wonder!". Well, E maybe a one-point wonder as a distance closer but ask yourself, what benefits does W have at a high level? The scaling is absolutely horrible and the stun time is EXACTLY the same, you may say oh, the cool down is shorter but say 1.5 seconds or so with CDR, but hey, what is 1.5 seconds to Renekton? He's a mean green chasing machine. Well, onto the plus sides of having a high level of E, first of all, E does HIGHER base damage than W, assuming you land both slice and dice, now what this can do is help you FARM better and also KILL/HARASS better, not to mention higher levels of E have shorter cooldown, "But, didn't you say CDR was not that big of a deal for renekton" well, yes I did but think of what the cool down reduction on E can do for your, close distance FASTER, escape from ganks FASTER. Using W as a stun utility is a much better choice than relying on it for damage, E can help you close distance faster and use your burst quicker, while leveling W will only give a benefit of less cooldown, and what's the point of less cooldown if you aren't next to the enemy champion to the said skill?

As for the beginning items, I recommend Boots + 4 pots, you can wait a bit after minions spawn to get the last potion, but you're probably like "Oh but, I'll miss out on minion EXP!" no you won't, with the boots and MS quints, you'll be at your lane by the time your minions get there. Now you may say what benefits does boots and pots give me that doran's shield doesn't? I can't argue that doran's shield is the best doran's item, but what is an extra 10 armor and 120 HP going to do for renekton during laning? It's your job to be wrecking the enemy champions with your short bursts during laning, and how do you do that? you get to them fast with boots and wreck their faces (lol), now to the most useless part of Doran's shield (in Renekton's case) is the HP regen, why in the world would you need HP regen when you have an offensive heal that can keep you in the lane forever?


Anyways, that's the end of my "suggestions + opinions", I like the overall guide but I feel like you need to furthermore elaborate what Renekton does, I feel you only gave a brief explanation of what his role is during Early,mid, and late game. I believe Renekton is the funnest champion in the game, not to mention he's one of the dreaded Irelia's only counters during laning. I will give this a positive, if I feel like it ;3

Pretty much exactly how I build him except I take ghost instead of Flash, and a great guide to boot. I love your flowcharts and your elaboration on the fury use of spells. Renekton is one of my fav heroes and he's very overlooked right now. Keep up the good work I'm loving your guides so far! ^.^

Although, I think a few things could be better:

1. Dodge yellows would be better than hp imo, especially since you're taking the dodge mastery.
2. Why do you get the magic pen mastery? I was reading his spell descriptions and noticed only Q made it clear it was physical damage, and W / E just say "damage" and R says magic damage. I thought his R was the only skill that dealt magic damage though, so this seems like a waste. I usually put 1 point in the offense tree for exhaust then 8 in the utility tree (this might be better for me though since I take ghost and can get the ghost talent, but increased exp is pretty nice too!). I know you like the CDR in the offense tree, and both choices are definitely viable. I was just confused about the magic pen choice particularly.
