I havent played him much seeing as he just came out but i already love him!
Renekton is a strong late game hero due to his great survivability in his heal and ultimate which buffs his hp and does aoe damage to help output that extra dps.
Early game from lvl 1-6 you are rather squishy so i prefer to hang and play it safe till i get my ulti which can win you battles of 1v3 if u play it right.
My runes are simple armor penetration marks and quintessences with dodge seals and flat cooldown glyphs this is a large help when dealing dps at any part in the game. Early on he seems weak which he is in the aspect of armour so instead of boosting myself like a tank i simply add more effective attack which helps renekton's Q move to do more damage and more easily cap the heal.
CDR seals allow to heal more often and once again give more survivability with your slice and dice being off cooldown you can jump in and out of fights to stay safe from danger.Finally the dodge which is once again survivability and stacks with your masteries to have a much better chance of surving early game fights.
Its a basic 21/9/0 build with the dodge bonus instead of armour because items will give you the armour you need. I make a point of getting the exhaust as that is my main summoner spell and i also dodge out those un needed spells such as Archaic knowledge which has magical penetration something that renekton doesnt deal with.
i start simple with dorans shield because of its hp regen and health bonus not found in the sword. i get the sword right after because it helps with farming and those lane battles that you will always run into. The ionian boots and spirit visage are for the cooldown reduction and spirit visage also for the improved heal on your Q move. Next is when damage is needed you get brutalizer for more cd reduction and youmoos for the active boosts. Randuins instead of frozen mallet as alot of builds say because of the active slow and the passive slow which help when escaping or chasing. Black cleaver simply works with all moves and can be bought in place of youmoos if youre ahead of the game. Sunfire cape simply because it stacks with my ult. another choice can be warmogs or anything with hp and regen/armour.
Exhaust and ghost are both chasing and escaping spells great for gettin first blood and at any other time in the game. i would go in and auto attack first (hopefully u got the element of surprise in the brush) waiting for them to get me down a bit then pop exhaust and move back gettin the to chase use cull of the meek to heal and then following with my hp pot (while still auto attacking) hopefully ur partner isnt dumb and will take care of the guy you havent exhausted. It has happened that this isnt so and thats when i use ghost to gain my space while making them chase still using my hp pot then culling when they get close.
Creeping / Jungling
I have never jungled with renekton simply because i feel hes to squisht early game and can use the pvp to get some extra cash. Creeping however you can use both cull and slice/dice to take out a creep wave giving you all that precious gold.
All i have to say is save your friends. Dont be selfish and just run off with ur full hp. I have gone into battles and seen my team running but if i see a guy there i make sure he gets out or i try my best to help. If you cant help him out and he does die chances are you'll make it out using ghost exhaust and slice n dice. In big team battles COVER YOUR SUPPORT i cant stress it enough i always see people running off solo to get 1 kill coming back and there teams dead then they get owned because they didnt fight as one.
