2. Masteries and Runes
6. Team comps
My native tongue is not english so grammar nazi away.
I don't used pictures because it's a lot of work and you need the info not the pictures.
This part will contain some basic stuff like pro's and con's and stuff.
Renekton is a fairly simple champion to play. He has no mana or energy that can run out.
You will have no problems staying in lane as long as you're not constantly getting harrased or camped out. in the casing of getting camped out there are 2 options your team can maken. option 1: let the jungler on your team help you on the top lane. option 2 let the jungler on your team help your bot or mid lane since they will get no help from their jungler defending it since he is trying to murder you.
The only hard part on Renekton is when to go in for a kill or when to use your empowered attacks.
When will you want to regain more health, stun longer or shred the armor of your opponent.
Renekton must kill someone in the short period he has that he can burst someone down. Or you must have the opportunity to chase your opponent down.
- no mana issues
- decent sustain
- easy combo
- decent damage
- can stun adc's in teamfights
- no really good gap closer
- if early ganked you are having a hell of a time to recover.
- Hard early game
I like to take flash and teleport.
This way i can always escape sticky situations and chase down an important target if needed. The teleport is for getting back in lane in case I went to help another lane and my lane is pushed. Also if my team decides to take dragon I can teleport to a ward there.
Other summoner spells that can be used:
Ghost: chasing and escaping tool.
Ignite: can kill your opponent in some trades.
Exhaust: ability to slow the target and lower their defences.
Other summoner spells don't really work with Renekton according to me.
Masteries and Runes
The masteries and runes I use on Renekton 14-16-0.
You don't need points in utility since he has no problem sustaining himself.
You can also go for a 21-9-0 build or 9-21-0 build. Depending on your playstyle
(21-9-0) = agressive
(9-21-0) = defensive
I like to take the middle road. Since I don't want to get blown up when caught and still can deal some moderate damage.
I take att damgage reds, flat armor yellows, mr scaling blues and att damage quints.
For those of you who like armor pen more then I suggest you switch the att damage runes with armor pen runes.
Cull The Meek = moderate aoe physical damage. this is also your sustain since you heal the more minions you hit/more damage you do. EMPOWERED: does the same thing only more damage and more life back.
Ruthless Predator: you hit the enemy twice dealing decent damage with those 2 hits (2x 0.75 total att). You stun the enemy and the have the choice to attack further or to disengage. EMPOWERED: you hit the target 3 times for a 0.75 ratio and stunning for twice the duration.
Slice and Dice: little gap closer dealing little damage to all enemies hit in your path. if hit you can cast the ability again. EMPOWERED:
Boots and 3 health pots (if you suspect of getting a early gank you can also start with: boots, 1 hp pot and 1 ward. another option is: 2 Rejuvenation Beads, 1 hp pot and 1 ward. (this way you can build into tiamat early.
Brutalizer, tier 2 boots (depending on the enemy team(ninja tabi=ad heavy / merc threads = ap heavy) and if you are doing well you can buy Ionian Boots of Lucidity. last core item is: sunfire cape.
Late game items:
Black cleaver, Ravenous Hydra
Other items are optional if you ask me.
ALWAYS BUY A WARD WHEN YOU GO BACK, if you can prevent the enemy from ganking you, you'll have more farm wich means more items and more items means more damage :P
PLay safe the first 4 lvl's else you will get blown up and high risk to losing your lane then.
after lvl 4 try to harras your opponent with this combo: e-w-q-e.
this will let you get some decent damage of and not taking any to little damage.
after lvl 6 you can use your ultimate in this combo. r-e-w-q-e
you can have any kind of jungler with Renekton top. You can stun for your jungler so they don't need to have that really good engage. Like a gap closer or so.
After you succeed in taking down the opponent's tower you can start to roam a bit. mostly helping the midlaner since this lane is the shortest way into your and the enemies base. keep your eye on the minimap so you can see if your tower is getting pushed or your enemies are setting up and ambush for you.
As I said earlier almost every champ works good with renekton because you can engage and stun for them. An aoe midlaner is always usefull in teamfights since he can deal damage to the whole group wich most likely will cause them to spread out. This gives you change to engage on their MVP most likely their ADC. if you can take him/her down then proceed for the APC and then it's GG.
Hope you have had enough info to become a better player.
And maybe we will battle someday on summoner's rift.
