Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
My name is Stunn3r and I love Renekton as a DPS champion. I like to think he can be up the with Pantheon if you play him like Pantheon. This is my guide to Renekton.
Pros and Cons
- Uses no mana
- Capable of nice crowd control and burst damage with Ruthless Predator (W) especially in combination with The Black Cleaver
- Excels at chasing with Slice and Dice (E) which can also be used as an escape mechanic, and can jump through walls
- His ultimate, Dominus (R) is great for team fights
- His passive Reign of Anger makes him stonger when below 50% health.
- Uses Fury, which is most likely the biggest con because most of your damage is done with fury and its hard to keep
- Is squishy
- Slow movement speed
I useexhauste andignite. With this you can make sure no one gets away in a fight or makes it out of one.
Reign of Anger (Passive): Renekton uses a new resource system called Fury. Renekton gains Fury by attacking or dealing damage with spells. When he has gathered enough Fury, the resource will be expended to empower his skills with bonus effects. Renekton gains 5 Fury per autoattack. Having sufficient fury empowers Renektons abilities with bonus effects, but this drains Fury. Out of combat, Renekton loses 5 Fury per second. When under 50% health points, Renekton gains double Fury per autoattack making him more deadly.
Cull the Meek (Q): Renekton swing his blade, dealing damage to nearby enemies and healing for a portion of the life dealt. Fury Bonus: Heal amount raised dramatically. This is your first harassment skill, and it will make you lane longer by healing yourself. Make sure you hit as many champions/minions (max. 5) as possible with this skill in order to gain more health.
Ruthless Predator (W): Renekton's next attack swings twice, dealing a portion of his weapon damage, stunning his target briefly and applying on-hits each time. Fury Bonus: Renekton's next attack swings three times, dealing a huge portion of his weapon damage, stunning his target greatly and applying on-hits each time. This is your main damage skill, and will therefore be maxed out first.
Slice and Dice (E): Renekton dashes forward, dealing physical damage to targets along the way. If he hits a target, he can use Dice for a brief period of time for the same effect. Dice Fury Bonus: Renekton deals 50% increased damage and reduces the armor of units hit.
Dominus (Ultimate, R): Renekton empowers himself with dark energy, gaining size and bonus health. He deals magic damage to enemies around him and rapidly gains Fury. If you play Nasus then you know all about it. If not then it works like an SunFire Cape dealing magic damage per second
Runes and Masteries
Mark of Desolation
Greater Seal of Resilience
Greater Glyph of Warding
Greater Quintessence of Desolation
Having these will help your survivability considerably during early game encounters, as well as provide you with the damage needed to harass and kill right off the bat. The lifesteal just comes as an added bonus, and will let you stay in lane longer to farm and level.
You will need it until level 6
Ionian Boots of Lucidity
These are just fit for Renekton because of the 15% cooldown reduction. Renekton uses long cooldown spells, and these will help reduce them.
Mainly for the cooldown but the damage is nice and the attack speed and its active comes in handy for solo and team fights.
The Black Cleaver
The damage is nice but the armor pen. is what you want combined with your runes you will be removing armor faster than a stripper can remove her clothes
The health and armor is what will keep you alive in fights. Use this item with your ult. and let the rape begin the magic damage from Sunfire Cape with your ult will be raping folk in team fights
25 Armor, 40 Attack Speed, 30 Attack Damage. UNIQUE Passive: On hit, deals Magic Damage equal to 4% of the target's maximum Health.
