Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Kayle is a highly underestimated champion, an odd child of carry and support. She has both melee and ranged attacks, though she is mostly ranged. Her heal is decent at rank 5, but the speed boost is negligible.
Pros / Cons
- Great early-game harass with E
- High damage output late-game
- Invulerability bubble
- Can change from melee to ranged for 10 seconds
- Mana problems if other abilities are used a lot
- Expensive build
- Ult does not block CC
Attack speed. You need this.
You could run Replenishment if you find that your mana regen problems are only early game, but these scale much better at around level 7.
You need your E up, so every bit helps when you don't have the Intelligence mastery.
For a small boost late-game.
Kayle's starting AD was nerfed in addition to not getting the bonus from her old passive, so this helps with last-hitting without your E. However, her Q now has a 1:1 bonus AD ratio, so this will boost that too.
Many of the new Offense masteries benefit Kayle greatly, especially . Focus on attack speed so the shredding from your passive and the penetration from and can allow you to do near true damage.
Start off with or with 3 potions if solo-laning. Rush a to increase your splash damage and to synergize with your passive. or if you think CC isn't a problem. Get a or next for survivability. I usually build Gunblade because the splash damage on her E procs spellvamp. Afterwards, get for more shredding and finish off with and for even more on-hit magic damage and some resistances. Attack Speed is key here.
Your passive shreds 3% armor/MR on hit, stacking up to 5 times. This is the reason attack speed is so important, because you want as many stacks as possible, despite the fact that you'll never get full stacks unless you're finishing off a Singed or something.
Max your E first because the splash damage is crazy. Get Q next for the damage amp and slow, but don't spam it. Max your W last because the heal is negligible and so is the speed boost.
Get whenever you can, and DO NOT USE IT ON SOMEONE WITH LOW HEALTH. Unless, of course, everyone on the opposing team is dead. No damage at all for 3 seconds is meant to block large bursts of damage, not to escape.
Use on the carry, then proceed to the holy snot out of them. With your shredding items and passive, you'll be doing lots of damage. Try not to spam because the mana cost is high and the cooldown is low.
Kayle does decent sustained damage, but suffers from squishiness and poor early attack speed. Assuming the opposing team is bad enough to let you get fed, you CAN carry.
