Hi everyone, I'm Protikyll, and this is my Riven guide. I worked hard to make this guide the best I could, and I would appreciate any and all feedback that you guys may provide.

I like playing Riven so much because she has great skills and Blade of the Exile, her ultimate, is the best. This is a short movie where you can see how good Riven really is. (Sorry 4 the music) Play Video /league-of-legends/champion/riven-83 ** IMPORTANT **

I'm still updating and working at this guide, so pls don't downvote the guide, cause it isn't finished. It's for a friend who plays Riven now since a few days and he needed a guide. If you want a in-depth guide have a look at the Riven guide: Valor for All.

Pros:

• Good mobility
• Shield based on AD
• Manaless Champ
• Shield based on AD
• Manaless Champ
• AoE Stun
• Fast, Strong Combo's
• Good KS-ULT (Mean, but Handy)
• Strong Passive

Cons:

• Cooldown dependant
• Not very effective without hole combo
• Combo's need good timing
• Too expensive

I will explain my Rune choice here for the people who think, WTF why these runes?

Greater Mark of Desolation:

Why these? Now, Riven is an after 6 aggresive top laner, who needs to deal with a lot of tanky champs who build armor against him. With ArmPen you can hit through the armor to deall out lots of damage.

Greater Seal of Armor:

Why armor? Riven isn't armor dependant, but in the laning phase it is very usefull against AD champs and the AD junglers, and with Guardian Angel you have a nice amount of armor so you can focus on more AD.

Greater Glyph of Magic Resist:

Why Magic Resist? I take MR per level, cause you will need to deal with AP champs later in the game, early game you usual face a AD champ. So a little bit bonus Magic Resist is really nice and it stacks with your Maw of Malmortius, for a stronger late game.

Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage:

I take AD Quints cause with the The Brutalizer, you will have enough ArmPen. And then you can use the AD very well.

Take this for a 5 bonus AD and AP when on CD, must have.
3 AD on a AD dependent champ, always a must have.
Take this for the upgrade to Weapon Expertise , and a little bit AS isn't bad at all.
Nice CDR, always handy for Riven, stacks with The Brutalizer.
Again AD per level on a AD dependent, you know how I think about it.
This 10% ArmPen is really nice with runes and The Brutalizer
Again ArmPen. very usefull.
Dealing more damage against low HP champs, fine combination with your ult.

A bit MR, just spend 1 point in it.
6 armor for 3 points is really nice, must have as solo top
Health per level, makes you a bit more tanky, you will need it.
40 health for 1 point is really nice, must have.

MS is really nice at the start and let's you run in and away from the minion waves.
Take 3 of them cause you don't have real sustain except your shield.
You have farmed alot and maybe a kill, you have 1650 GP and you decide to buy B. F. Sword, a really nice AD bonus.
I usually finish this before my boots, cause it's the best item on Riven and it let dish him out tons of damage.
These boots are really nice, I think these are the best boots for Riven, cause he isn't very tanky and can't get to much damage, so you need the Tenacity.
I take this item for a while now, and the CDR and early ArmPen is really nice. Dont take this if you prefer Last Whisper above Youmuu's Ghostblade
At the point you get this item, you will become almost unkillable, you have the Lifesteal and the AD and a bit of ArmPen. With this item you will become more tanky and less likely to focus.
This item is what triggered me to get Hexdrinker, first Hexdrinker wasn't worth to get it. But since this item I buy it almost every game. Nice AD and AD passive, nice MR and just perfect for Riven
I like this item alot cause of the massive ArmPen. If you don't feel lik Last Whisper, you can get a Youmuu's Ghostblade
This is your last item and usual you won't come this far, but if you get this far take it, it makes you so tanky and has a nice slow and it has the AD bonus.

Offensive

I really like this item, because I get The Brutalizer early you have a bit more early ArmPen. and that's not the case with Last Whisper. I need to say don't get this item if you don't use the active. The active is what this item makes so nice. Replace this with Last Whisper or Frozen Mallet if you don't need the health, but some more damage.

Defensive

I tried this sometimes, and I like it if you aren't tanky enough. Then get Warmog's Armor instead of Last Whisper, and Atma's Impaler instead of Frozen Mallet.
