Introduction

This is my guide on how to build a successful Riven. IMO she is the most fun champion I've ever played (other than Akali) and alot of people decide not to play her because she seems under powered. Riven is awesome sauceum and I hope this guide helps you find out for yourself!

Runes

Early game dominance. Other guides with damage based runes make Riven too squishy. (BTW attack speed runes on Riven are USELESS!)

Masteries

This mastery setup makes Riven tanky throughout the game and allows her to dish out OBSCENE amounts of damage.

Items

This item setup is COMPLETELY interchangeable. However, you should relatively get the same items up to yoummu's. Then, depending on the team comp, u can mix it up. Other alternatives are:

- The Bloodthirster
- The Black CLeaver
- Guardian Angel
- Hexdrinker (I always get this if there's an enemy Karthus)

BOOTS:

I find myself switching up boots consistently. It all depends on the team comp. The 3 choices of tier 2 boots are:

- Mercury's Treads
- Ionian Boots of Lucidity
- Ninja Tabi
- Boots of Mobility (Not a personal preference)

*NOTE* DO NOT GET BERSERKER'S GREAVES! Whenever I see a Riven building attack speed, it makes me go BLARGHARG. You're soo much better off going with one of the alternatives above. "Trust me, I'm a Doctor."

How To Use Your Abilities

To initiate either harrassing or a kill, first use Blade of The Exile (R), then use Valor (E) to gain distance with you and your enemy. Then, use Broken Wings (Q) once, auto attack, then use it again, auto attack, and repeat for the last strike. After that, use Ki Blast (W) and keep on smacking them with your sword. If they try to run away, your Valor should be up already. Use it to chase and smack them until they die. If they are running away with low hp, use your Blade of The Exile (R) and Windslash their sorry ***es. It is to your judgement if you should use your ultimate before you start the sequence (Damage Bonus), which you always should, unless you know it's a sure kill without it.

*NOTE* If you are fighting someone like Katarina, wait until they use their channeling move (Her spinny blade thing) and stun her with Ki Blast. Completely throws 'em off
