Can you explain why titanic hydra would be a better pick for the "current meta"? With only 1 pure defensive item, it seems unviable to sacrifice so much more damage for a bit more of hp. Just my opinion, would love to hear yours! :)

Great guide, but any advice on what camps to clear first?

If your mid-laner has an aoe, damaging ability (like Ahri Q) then you can start Raptors to get the most experience from your first camp. Then go to Red Buff and then go to Wolves. That should give you level 3 and the ability to gank.
Another perfectly valid start is Bot-side Buff, Wolves, and then the other Buff. This also gives you level 3 and is the route for most junglers at the moment.

Yo man, amazing stuff on this guide, speaking of which, can you update the tankier build and the masteries as well? Cause you know its the new patch and stuff so I'd like to know the tankier build and the best masteries of season 7 jungle riven.

I'll do a little updating some time in the near future, but for the most part not much has changed. Thunderlord's Decree is still your best chance of getting a kill on a gank, and in most games I find myself getting Warrior's and then Black Cleaver before anything else. Ninja Tabi are particularly strong right now, and if your team lacks tank, take a full tank item before titanic hydra.

Good guide, but I disagree that Thunderlord's Decree is the only viable Keystone in the Cunning Tree as Stormraiders Surge is phenomenal on her. I personally believe that Thunderlord's is inferior to COTC and Fervor as well.

At the time I originally wrote this, Thunderlord's was pretty much the only Keystone for Riven. Since then, Fervor has received a buff and COTC was created. I like fervor and have had some success with it recently, but taking 18 points in ferocity will decrease your early clear time by lowering your CDR by 5% (so just be aware of that). As for COTC, it seems like a strong keystone but not a good fit for Riven Jungle; in other words, I don't like a shield that will only come up once (maybe twice) in a fight for a champ that already has a built in shield on a 4 second cooldown. I don't have enough experience with Stormraiders to comment with certainty, but I would guess that Thunderlords is better against teams that don't have enough meaningful CC to warrant Stormraiders. For tons of targeted CC, Stormraiders would easily be better once teamfights start.

I would only take thunderlords if the opposing team is all squishes, but I find that storm raiders and COTC are the best on her (in jungle) because you can't get all of the fervor stacks off unless ganking a highly immobile champion without flash up.

instead of 2 quints of CD, take 1, 3x CD glyph, 3x Scaling CD glyph, that way you have 2 quints of dmg, instead of 1 wasting 3 in the glyphs section :)

I see that a lot and it's definitely a valid rune set. I actually prefer the scaling magic resist because 9 MR makes a big difference late game, especially since you build very little magic resist as jungle Riven.

thank u so much!!! ^^

i see some the shy gameplays that goes first for gromp, blue, wolf and the red camp after that. can u say me when i need to go for blue?
And why first the black...than hydra, is not best hydra for frist camp cleans?
and first CD boots or MR/ninja boots?

sorry for the question, but i am a nub player and i don't know some things.

Ty man for ur guide that are very helpful!!! ^^

You are very welcome!!! ^^

You should go for blue after you clear the red-side camps, either after you gank or right after clearing red-side if you don't see any gank opportunities. In most cases, you take BC before Hydra first because the 20% cdr makes you a monster in duels and increases your clear speed. Hydra is good in that it has aoe on your autos, but you are not running attack speed. Also, the extra cdr and phage passive from BC make it a lot easier to stay with enemy laners during your ganks.

As for boots, it depends on how your game is going. Get CD boots for maximum cdr early if you are ahead and got Hydra early. If not, get tanky boots because you'll have 45% with jungle item and BC.

Thanks for the feedback, and sorry it took so long, I was out of town.

Thanks for the feedback! The few times I tried steraks, it felt underwhelming (especially without any armor), but I've only tried it a few times. I'll try to use it more and see if it's better as you suggest before passing judgment.

This guide looks pretty good, although I think steraks works better on Riven as a defensive item than randuins or deadmans.
