RIVEN IS AMAZING SHE IS TOTALLY WORTH 6300 SHE DOMINATES A LANE SHE DOES TONS OF DAMAGE AND SHE IS A LOT OF FUN. She can be an offtank or a mass damage dealer, she works well in any comp and she excels at aoe damage. RUNES
Runes are able to be varied on Riven though she does excel at early game damage flat damage or armor pen runes are the best, in the runes I showed give u a lot of early game damage and a chance at first blood while also giving you a little defense with the flat armor. The physical damage is the best in my opinion but play with what your comfortable with the mr per level helps late game because with a guard angel and hexdrinker you have over 160 mr and 150 armor at full build which makes you tanky along with your bloodthirster procs.

LANING phase
Riven has a decent laning phase she excels at early game damage due to her passive The Art of War which gives her bonus damage in between abilities. Riven should focus on farming but you can play agressive if you know you can win your lane but make sure to ward. The other option is play passive and bait them so your jungle can gank and then you can kill and snowball. Riven does have a lot of early game damage so dont be scared to fight a level 1 fight with your physical damage runes. Also try to pop your ultimate towards the middle of the fight because if they see your sword get a ***** then they will flash or run away so try and bait it long enough and then pop your ultimate with ignite and finish them off your stun changes a fight 1v1 so utilize it well in your lane. You can also push your lane because riven can push with aoe damage and try to gank mid or bot lane as a flash stun in mid lane can guarantee you a kill 90% of the time.
TEAMFIGHTS/FOCUS POINTS
In team fights you want to lead with your abilities to try and close a gap unless you have flash you want to try and pop your ult before you run into the fight and then do mass aoe damage with all your abilities try and hit the ap and ad carries because cc can be annoying as hell to riven. If you have flash you can lead with flash and 
and then follow up with 
and then follow up with your r which is wind slash to finish them up. Rivens R is on a low cooldown and dont be afraid to use it if you see an low enemy champion pop it and try to go in and click r and one shot them, ive done it many times. As riven you will be focused alot so try and attack the closest target to proc your bloodthirster lifesteal until your abilities are up then can u run after the carries, most of the time as a solo top you have to get the carries or zone them so try and do that as riven can 1v1 any champion with her ultimate and build ready.
LANING OPPONENTS
AD NID IS EXTREMELY POWERFUL AND CAN beat you in lane this lane you want to try and farm and try and ask your jungle for a gank pre-6 and hopefully you can get ahead try and do a little harass if the nid doesnt have cloth 5 but if she does try and farm your lane and fight when your jungle comes, this matchup is hard for you to win so be safe.
NASUS IS NOT THE BEST solo top and this lane is yours to win, nasus can only win a lane if he farms q and that is your job to not let him farm q, you are manaless so put as much damage as you can on nasus and make him go back as much as you can he will try and rush glacial shroudjust dont let him farm and you can easily win this lane he has 0 killing potential without a farmed q try and keep the tower as you dont want him to free farm. THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO GANK, HARASS, DONT LET HIM FARM THIS IS AN EASY LANE FOR YOU
Garen is a weak solo top and you can win this lane easily, garen will try to spin to win but just use when he runs up to u, try and kite his abilities as garen is useless without his q or e abilities, the garen will most likely be agressive so try and punish him with your jungler. THIS IS YOUR MATCHUP TO WIN BE SMART THOUGH LOL
Kennen is an annoying solo top to deal with as riven he can kite you easily and harass you a **** load try and be safe and farm with 
and try to get jungle support. THIS LANE IS IMPOSSIBLE 1V1 TRY AND FARM AND ASK JUNGLE FOR HELP
Wukong is a pretty strong solo top and is evenly matched with you, dont be dumb, dont full on engage him at level 6 cause his ultimate can screw you over try and kite it with and . This is a farm game post-9 so try to not ignite a clone when fighting and ask for jungle assistance. THIS LANE IS NEUTRAL WHOEVER MAKES A MISTAKE LOSES THE LANE BE WISE
Akali is a decent solo top but is rare now post nerf, you can win this lane post-6 as akali can harass meele alot try and farm and if your jungler comes bait twilight shroud then kill. Try to fight outside akalis shroud and try to fight post-6 as akali will harass you alot with mark of assasin,farm up and fight post-6.THIS IS YOUR LANE POST-6 BULLY AKALI AND ASK FOR JUNGLE ASSISTANCE IF U DIED ERLY
Pantheon is a really agressive solo top and will most likely raise q first raise ur first and whenever he throws a spear you can sheild it with the cooldowns for 
and will be the same and eventually he will be out of mana and you will be relatively full health starting cloth 5 in this matchup is a good idea with the 21-0-9 masteries because if someone has a q harass like
you should cloth 5, This is a relatively easy matchup and panth falls off late game. This is your lane to win use to sheild his q's and win the lane easily.
This is exactly the same matchup as pantheon except gp does not fall off that much late game
Use when

. This is also a relatively easy matchup for you. SHEILD PARLEYS =YOUR LANE ASK FOR GANKS IF POSSIBLE
Udyr is one of the hard counters to riven start boots 3 and be safe and farm try to ask for early jungle gank because if udyr farms up he will **** on almost everyone
try to just not get hit my too much tiger stances and be aware of jungle ganks try and ask your jungle to camp top as
is a strong solo top. You cannot beat udyr 1v1 dont full on engage unless your jungle comes
This is similar to the wukong matchup except rumble has a ton of harass from 
try and get your early merc treads and a maybe a negatron cloak rumble will most likely be agressive so try and use the brush to your advantage by going in and out of it. This matchup is even, dont take to much harass and dont get caught by the rumble ulti ward for urself or you will be destroyed because of the cc rumble can put on u
Teemo is annoying as fck you may have to ask your mid lane for a switch because if they counterpick your riven with teemo it will be a pain, as i said before teemo is good at kiting and riven can be kited easily though
is not as effective because your an ability damage dealer he will still be a pain.You cannot win this lane,ASK FOR THE JUNGLER TO CAMP YOU OR SWITCH WITH THE MIDDLE LANE.
Jax is decent did not play against many post-nerf, dont have too much to say about this one but it should be an even matchup damagewise. Be careful dont commit to a full 1on1
Though singed is one of my favorite solo tops he gets bullied by Riven, dont believe me go watch the riven champion spotlight when phreak does it. Riven does to much dps for singed and can put a lot of early harass on
, singed will have to build
, therefore he will have barely any armor he will keep having to use 
to stay in lane. DONT BE AFRAID, YOUR LANE, BE A BULLY, DONT COMMIT TO FIGHTING WHILE HE HAS HIS ULT AND FULL HEALTH THOUGH.
Irelia is a very strong solo top but takes a while to ramp up in lane irelia needs atleast level 7 so 
will have some effect irelia's early game is pretty weak like i said so try and do a little harass. Be careful if irelia gets first blood and gets an early
if irelia snowballs you lose. ASK FOR GANKS ONCE IN A WHILE IT IS AN EVEN MATCHUP DONT PUSH 2 HARD.
Talon is a decent solo top ask for early ganks and bait talon's 
he can kite u with his

talon is kind of an anti agression so farm up. This lane is a farm-fest even for both champs

Malphite is decent at higher elo he is bad at lower elo you will rarely see a malphite under 1600 but if you do he will stack armor top so just a farm fest. EVEN LANE
equal lane dont commit to a full fight at level 6 because

Havent played against much against lee sin he is better in the jungle but it is an even matchup as he lee sin puts out alot of damage while being tanky. FARM DONT COMMIT TO 1V1ING DUE TO LEE SIN'S

EXHAUST- enables you to win most 1v1 fights because u can kite them if they exhuaust you and then use ur exhaust.
TELEPORT- alright summoner spell used more in higher elo dragon fights but can be good if you wanna push a lane and gank or get back to lane by tping or even gank a bot or mid lane by tping to a ward
or something and your low w8 till your abilities are up run in and 1 shot ashe. The fall back technique with riven is amazing since you can cover so much distance and you have a knockback and stun, you can easily bait people when ur low, also try kiting people together with ur abilities because riven is an aoe damage dealer so if you can hit everyone the better, I have tanked many 1v4's and 1v3's with just a bloodthirster and a g.a and effectively coming out on top due to aoe damage.
