This is a build for Classic.
Straight damage build all her abilities benefit from physical damage so stack it, that and the life leech makes her carry quite easily.
Skill involved to play this build, not recommended for new players.
You can jungle with riven once you get wriggles lantern around level 6 or 7 if you so wish, I do highly recommend taking advantage of both Red and Blue buffs at around level 8 or 9. Blue for the cool down reduction, ( It helps a lot more than people think ) ignore the whiners saying its for mana users.
Attack speed, critical strike damage, critical strike chance, and cool down reduction seem to do for me. You will stack so much damage from item purchase it hardly seems necessary to put runes into damage.
Pretty self explanatory. The resistances can be changed to whatever you want really, it just helps make you a little less squishy.
Physical damage helps all Rivens abilities, it helps you offensively by adding damage to all attacks, and helps reduce damage because it increases how much Valor absorbs as well. Sword of the Occult should be replaced if you are not carrying, but if you can keep your stacks up it is a game changing item. The Bloodthirster can be changed with whatever you need, be it magic res physical res or hp. Frozen mallet is a good alternative 40% slow and 700 hp, but you will have crits over 1100 with bloodthirster stealing about 35% of that back in hp so its defensive in its own sense.
Wriggles Lantern with Mercury treads give a good amount of survivability early on and puts you at about 50% physical and magical reduction as well as having the tenacity.
You dont need to worry about movement speed because riven is given a high base movement speed added to phantom dancers 15% and sword of the occults 20 stack bonus of 15% you will be the fastest champion on that map at around 490 movement speed.
Level the heck out of ki blast as often as possible because its a powerful aoe attack and stun, make sure you use it. Obviously you would level your ultra whenever possible 6,11,18. Valor is helpful so it comes next just for survivability it gets you away from people and helps you chase as well as absorbing damage. Rest of your points go into broken wings.
Depending on what your situation is it is usually safe to enter with broken wings to close distance, followed by a ki blast. The ki blast should allow you to decide if you want to commit or run, either way absorb damage and chase with valor, or use it to put distance and absorb damage. Your ultra can be used as a finisher and an opener because most battles dont take longer than 20 seconds this adds 20% damage and allows you to fire off a finisher to get kills (you need kills for sword of the occult so kill steal your heart out).
Broken wings is good to chase with as well as valor so use them and abuse them.
Riven is probably the best champion when it comes to chasing, its debatable.
When tower diving make sure you enter and exit on a valor, it will absorb 2 of the hits.
For team battles you don't really want to be the center of attention so make sure they are targeting your tank or someone besides you.
Your abilities should really always be on cooldown when you are in combat, just because its free extra damage no energy mana or rage.
Riven kicks *** if you use her well, make sure you get red buffs when you can they make leveling your sword of the occult up so much easier!
Have fun knockin teeth out!
Pros / Cons
Pros: you do ridiculous amounts of damage and you do it ridiculously fast you can stay in battle forever essentially because of your life steal (if you are low hp kill a minion or two and you are full again). You have extremely high movement speed and attack speed as well as hard hitting skills and high absorption with your Valor ability
Cons: you are somewhat squishy so be careful you don't attract a lot of attention in team battles, the build is kind of tricky and needs practice to perfect
