Basic Tip

When i use Riven i barely ever let my abilities come off cooldown. When trying to get somewhere i Broken Wings 1-Broken Wings 2- Valor forward- And finally Broken Wings 3. When laning I'm constantly harassing, throwing down the combo: Broken Wings 1- Broken Wings 2- Broken Wings 3- And right here you should slam on top of a enemy, once your there you Ki Burst to stun- and then Valor AWAY to safely get away. Those 2 stuns will be great harassment and damage. If you keep repeating that combo once you get your ulti at level six, or maybe even sooner you can start tower diving.

Summoner Spells

I prefer to use Flash and Ignite. As Riven you should be tower diving a bit, she has two "Getaway Abilities" ( Valor and Broken Wings ). This is also why I carry around Flash and Ignite with me, tower diving. When tower diving and your enemy is at low health you will most likely always confirm the kill with ignite, also using your flash to escape from the tower hits immediately.

Runes

Now I'm not that sure on the runes. I use pure AD runes because it helps me with first blood, and dominating me enemy in my lane. But the again, i'm not that sure if they are the best ones to use.

Farming

Riven is a GREAT farmer. Her Broken Wings and Ki Burst are pro at minion farming.

Items

Now you probably might be thinking that why a Sheen? Riven doesn't use mana or ability power at all, well the answer is Sheen's passive. Trinity Force is a great item for Riven, all the stats on there might not fit her, but for the most part they do and by the time I get my Trinity Force, I'm pretty much dominating. By the end of your item build you will be very beefy and have almost 300 AD. Just keep in mind harassing, and spamming your abilities almost every chance you get.

Team Work

Riven is a very good teammate. Her 2 CC's she has ( Broken Wings and Ki Burst ) will help you a lot in team fights. These CC's will get anybody running away, or it can be a very great initiator. Her ultimate ( Blade of the Exile ) when pressed the second time will fire a cone of damage ahead of her, this is great for confirming kills or ending a team fight.
