Introduction

Riven is a fighter melee, not a tanky dps like some play her, she is tankier then some melee fighters, which is how some people get away with doing warmogs atmas build, I dont perfer that play style or build but there are many way to play most champions.

Runes

For jungling i grab the normal armor yellows to allow jungling to be possible in the first place, it also helps alot with being tanky into mid and late game without having any defensive items. I also grab MR / Level blues because of the same thing, staying durable in mid game without many items.

For jungling I also run armor pen reds and ad quints, thats to give me some damage and speed to rivens jungling, because the faster you clear it, the less damage you take.

For laneing, i grab Health regen quints because even though you have amazing early damage, your very open to being poked, and having the hp regen allows you to stay in lane and rack up cs like a baws.

Masteries

For jungle riven I run pretty much standard offensive jungle runes, except i get the CDR instead of the attack speed for riven.

For Laneing i have a custom homebrew of masteries. I go down defensive just the first tier for extra resistances in lane, down utility for improved regen and levels, aswell as a very minor gp5 advantage, and i go as far down offensive as I can giving myself the cdr, armor pen, and extra damage to minions for farming before putting my remaining points into the extra free dmg.

Items

The item build I go for both jungle and lane is relatively the same, and is subject to change but thats what i aim for most of the time. It gives good damage whal picking a custom bf weapon for the situation helps alot with most games.

Assasins / Super fed carry on the enemy team? - Infinity Edge: Giving riven more crit and more static damage instead of the bloodthirsters damage that dissapears ensures that if you get onto the target and get a crit, atleast 1/3rd of their health is going to vanish before your eyes.

Tanky DPS / Super Ahead - Bloodthirster: Great for countering tanky dps or if your ahead to stay ahead against other strong melee fighters.

Black Cleaver - I never got around to testing this item, but in theory if you land a full Q, with autohits in between, it is very strong for you and is deffinetly something you could try in a normal to see if you like or not.

Last Whisperer - This item i get very often, i just dont have it built into the build because whal it is very strong, if the opposing team isnt heavy on armor it isnt the best item considering youmoos and runes for armor pen will give you good damage on most squishy targets.
