KPe99: You're welcome. I find it's always nice to be Malphite when you're up against a 2v1 top lane. He's quite well equipped for it. Good job for surviving that combo though, that sounds nasty.

Jpikachu1999: I'll try and keep this short before we start writing 12 page papers to each other.

I've always liked an early Randuin's, but it doesn't fit well with my build since I already have an armor item early on. Your suggestion brings up an interesting idea for swapping their placements. I could get Randuin's early and Atma's late. This would decrease my clearing speed and damage in ganks, but I'd be tankier with more utility. I will most likely be keeping Mallet because I prefer it to warmog's on most junglers. I'll probably test this before making the change, so you might have to wait a few days (I graduate tomorrow so I won't have time to play).

Malphite doesn't need Wit's End (though it's an option) because it doesn't really synergize with his role as well. A lot of champs who use the wit's/phage combo are bigger damage dealers. Lee Sin and Jarvan can easily build mallet, but don't use Wit's, so malph isn't the only one to use just mallet. Also remember that the champion you're attacking will probably have their AS reduced to 0.1, so it balances out :P.

You understand if I don't balance my build for players without runes and masteries. If I end up switching Randuin's and Atma's, it'll be in your favor anyway. Before you stack it, warmog's only gives 120 more health than mallet. The difference shouldn't be noticable until much later in the game. By that time you would have had plenty of ganks to make use of your mallet, so it should pay off either way.

I'll post your screenshot now. Sounds like a tough game. Never liked TT. Looks like you and Ryze were the only ones that ended up with fairly normal builds. :P

Desiderata03: The idea behind that was to encourage players to balance their survivability according to what type of damage they're taking. If you were taking a lot of physical and magic damage, you'd want both Glacial and Negatron before you started finishing the big items.

You do have a point though. Building like that every game will leave you without a ward slot, which is a disadvantage that you don't want to have every game. I'll remove the Negatron Cloak, hopefully that'll clear things up a bit. Remember to build situationally, don't just follow the cheatsheet exactly. It's not a perfect build recipe for every game. Hopefully I don't get a bunch of people saying "you build MR too late" or something because of this. :S

Yeah, let's try not to write 12 page essays to one another ... I've never even written a 10 page essay >.>

All your points make sense. I don't have any more questions, so I'll stop posting unless I get good screen shots.

One thing though, that may be why I'm so influenced one way or the other.

Malphite is a pretty good ganker, but I tend to focus on farming, maxing E, then W, with Q last. That may be why I prefer Warmog's over Mallet.

Also, the lowest AS anyone can have is like .200

Also, pre-congratulations on graduating!

Great guide friend the jungle build has served me well. It's really upped my game play with Malphite who, even though it says fighter, always seemed more like a tank to me. You've brought me back from the brink of just taking a beating to dishing them out too.

I just read this for the first time.

You put Master Yi as someone who has no sustain.. or defense mechanism.
