Who is Rumble, The Mechanized Menace? The Introduction
is a very good solo-top yordle that even makes jealous. This champion is my main and therefore I have lots of experience with him and that is why I am making this guide. First off I would like to thank jhoijhoi for making a guide on how to code, without that guide I wouldn't be able to make this guide.
Pros / Cons
- Lots of free harass if played correctly
- Game changing ult The Equalizer
- Bruiser with tons of damage Flamespitter
- Can play jungle if you please
- Uses heat instead of mana Junkyard Titan
- Very powerful Passive Junkyard Titan
- Short cooldowns
- Noobs that don't know how to use heat will often silence themselves with Junkyard Titan
- Can be kited if they stay behind minions or you cant hit Electro-Harpoon
- Naturally pushes lane with Flamespitter so is very vounerable to ganks as he has no true escape other than lots of MS with Scrap Shield
Greater Mark of Magic Penetration - Magic pen is a must have for rumble as all of his damage is ap this is to help rumble through out the whole game
Greater Seal of Armor - I like these runes because most top lanes are ad and therefore armor seals are the way to go on most top laners including rumble
Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist - These are better than flat magic resist unless you are facing an ap top lane, if you are facing an ap top laner use flat magic resist.
Greater Glyph of Magic Resist - Read above
Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed - Rumble has no escape therefore need lots of ms, also he is chasing a lot of times with rylai's this will help him catch up to targets.
These masteries give you more movement speed that you will need because you have no escape, other than that its pretty standard 9-21-0.
Flash - This is a must will at least until the nerf that will happen in s3 to this spell, for now this is a really good overall spell
Ignite - This is what I usually take against most toplaners for the exception of a few
Exhaust - Take this against champs like riven when they try to combo you just exhaust drop your ult and hit q
Ghost - I don't see rumble needing this instead i prefer flash
Heal - They dive you, you heal and drop ult, i prefer ignite or exhaust because this wont help you get away from a gank, but you can heal bait them to dive you, but make sure you heal once there ignite is on CD or wait for it to run out before you heal.
These are the skill sequence that you will go pretty much every single time with Rumble.
This is the order you should use against most champions, maxing Flamespitter and it deals the most damage and getting Electro-Harpoon at level one because you will need to farm from a distance early on. Getting you Scrap Shield at level 7 or 8 is a good idea against champions with a one ability poke such as Gangplank's Parrrley
So your stuck in "ELO Hell", this is probably the reason you don't have a higher ELO. FARM!, yes you aim for 60 farm at 10 minutes this is a 60% accuracy. Last hit, don't use Flamespitter because you will push the lane leading to ganks and your death followed by you QQ'ing and blaming your jungler.
TL;DR: Farming is the main reason why low elo's are where they are! Last-hit don't push!
Harrasing, Zoning and Combo-killing Opponents
Rumble is pretty weak before level 3-5 therefore get Electro-Harpoon at level one and farm from a distance. You need to gauge your damage compared to your oppenents, whos dealing more? For champs like olaf, darius, garen and riven play very cautiously because if get in range you will get destroying, try to bait there gap closers and harass while there gap closers are on cooldown. Harassing with rumble is pretty simple, hit Q without getting too close if they try to get close to you use Electro-Harpoon to keep them away. Your combo is The Equalizer Flamespitter Scrap Shield Electro-Harpoon try to overheat with Electro-Harpoon so you slow them from being able to walk away from passive, because you can fire the second harpoon even if you are overheated. Zoning should be easy if you constantly harass when they come in for farm, just get farm while trying to stop them from getting farm (Don't try this until you get first blood or are around level 5-11)
TL;DR: Your weak from level 1-3 don't get too cocky!
Go mid, go counter-jungle do what ever you have to do just please don't AFK farm, even if you lose your lane help get dragon or gank lanes and get your carries fed, your carries are the key to winning the game!
TL;DR: Leave your lane, help your carries get fed!
So you left the lane but the other teams top laner didn't?
Tell your mid and jungler to come top and turret dive if you have to even a 1for1 is good because you will get 1 kill and 3 assists, but try not to do this just use The Equalizer so he can't make it back to the turret, if he makes it let the tankiest dive first!
TL;DR: Gank top with the help of mid/jungler if they try to AFK farm.
Be at all team fights, your The Equalizer will make or break a team fight! Your job is to go for squishies and peel there tanks going for your carries with your Electro-Harpoon. With sunfires cape you should have lots of AOE! Stay close to the enemies you usually wont get focused.
Don't get caught in their jungle, stay with the team ALWAYS! Don't split push, don't leave to go farm top stay with you carry and support!
General Tips and Rumble Specific Tips!
- Your Flamespitter is invisible if your inside a bush, take advantage of this!
