It's a little harder to pull off, but here's a combo that I use to get the most out of Arcane Mastery and get the most damage possible:
Overload, Rune Prison, Overload, Spell Flux, Overload, Desperate Power, Overload, Spell Flux, Overload, Rune Prison, Overload.
It takes a little longer to use, but it's especially effective against enemies who can withstand the initial burst of only Overload, Rune Prison, Spell Flux, and Overload.
But overall, it's a very nice guide. +1

Because if the game's lasted that long, sustain is the last thing you need. The item doesn't really mean anything to him - AP isn't as significant as Deathcap, and the Spellvamp isn't any better then additional health or defenses.
Just because an item is good on some champions, does not mean it's good on others. This is one of those cases.

Chances are, someone else will have already purchased it anyway.

Hey I just wanted to check. You technically aren't at 40% max CDR yet are you?

Frozen Heart gives 20
Offense Mastery Tree gives 4
Utility Mastery Tree gives 6 only (Mastermind gives CDR on SUMMONER SPELLS (ignite etc), not any of Ryze's abilities. Am I correct? I never really figured this out)

In other words, I think you can still do even MORE CDR.
Runes maybe? I would really like feedback on this. Thanks.

I usually dont get level 2 boots until after my catalyst or glacial shroud because i find the extra magic pen isnt really needed early game but i guess it differs in some cases. Also, I'm wondering if placing Will of the Ancients in place of Rabadon's Deathcap would be another build choice allowing him more spell vamp in teamfights with his ult since his ap ratios for his Q and E are bleh. Just wondering since I never get to the point where I buy my 6th item

Edit: oh lol i shouldve read the earlier posts. Ignore my Will of the Ancient question since it was already answered hahaha

Hey, cheers and +1 from me as well. I have been using your guide for some time now and the results are quite good I could say! Thank you for the insight on this mana-hungry champ. I have one question though... I have been using one quint of swiftness and one quint of insight (since I am only level 27 atm) and I am wondering if 2 quints of swiftness and 1 of insight (at level 30) could be more useful since that 1.89 mpen isn't that bad, especially early in the game. And one last question... are quints of swiftness the same with these new quints of sugar rush? +1.5% ms on both of them but don't want to waste my hard earned IP on swiftness (+500 IP more) if sugar rush works the same as well... Thank you for your time and keep up the good work!

Been trying out the build, and it rocks. Made a few changes. Instead of archangel i went Manamune which help max out to 1000 mana buff faster and upped my AD which was nasty for getting in those last hits. But over all this is a great build. Up vote this build if you like to mana carry FTW!!
