Introduction

Ryze is God. Yes. If you have ever played against a good ryze I am sure you realize this.

The goal of this build is to take that God mode late game Ryze and turn him into a God mode early game fast paced Ryze.

Pros / Cons

Pros-
He beats the **** outa people
He kites like a boss
His cooldowns are off the charts
His sustain is TROLOLOLOL worthy
He can out DPS/Sustain carries in 1v1, 1v2, and even v3 if you are lucky
He is able to spam his abilties at anyone who tries to capture a point

Cons-
He is slow, as in you will be saying "OMG, if only I had my ****ing boots instead of standing on their bottom point for 10 minutes with only a catalyst." No joke. I have done this on multiple occasions and lost out on SOOOOOOo many kills because I simply could not catch them.

Other than that really no cons.

Runes

Mark of insight- derp damage derp

Seal of Clarity- Honestly I just use these because I only have 3 rune pages and I have to share with the other AP carries. Also since you do not build straight mana regen(aka archangel <,<) this is a nice mitigation to that so you can stay on point longer later in the game.

Glyphs of Coool the **** down- Yah at the point you get glacial shroud you will have around 37% CD from these and masteries and your passive Q. Is funny as hell spamming your skills all day

Quintessence of Swiftness- I told you ryze was slow as hell. This fixes that. I personally am stuck using flat AP runes because I do not have 10 billion rune pages. If you on the other hand plan to play ryze, I reccomend these MS quints. They are the ****.

Masteries

defensive ones because it gives you lol regen and decent early game res.

21 in utility because spamming flash and ignite is fun. Also exp, Move speed, buff duration, Cool down reduction, mana regen, less time dead (and lets face it everyone dies at some point). This tree is teh shiz.

Skill Sequence

R>Q>W>E

You grab all 3 skills in the begining that way you can pull off your chain combos. Afterwards you try to max in the order stated in order to maximize damage and CC duration.

THIS is your typical combo sequence:
Q-W-Q-E-Q-R-Q-E-Q-W-Q

Now if your ult is down there will be around a 1.5 second lag time in between your combos. I like to keep my ult up at all times so that I don't have this lag time. If you feel you need the spell vamp, or are going into a 3+ enemy situation, use your ult to deal AoE damage and keep up your sustain.

IF YOU **** UP YOUR COMBO YOU ARE GOING TO FACEPALM YOURSELF. Nobody likes to die simply because you pressed a button too fast. I guarentee it will happne, but just try to keep it to a minimum.

Summoner Spells

I go flash ignite. This is because flash+rune prison= nearly dead enemy. flash+rune prison+ignite=dead enemy. Also any AD with lifesteal gets raped by ignite. See AD Sion (lolololololol).

Other possible ones are:
promote
exhaust
garrison

Promote is nice for pushing if you plan on having a seige war with heimerdinger or the likes. Exhaust is great for PURE DAMAGE TROLLS, not to mention the slow is fun :D. Garrison is a wise choice if your team designates you to defend ****. With this you will pretty much be able to hold a point forever, yes even moreso than heimerdinger.

Items

YOU MAY SAY: "NO ARCHANGEL!?!?!?!? WTF HORIBAD BUILD GTFO NOOB!"
To this I say: "Whatevs."

Honestly level 1 catalyst is the most overpowered thing I have ever seen.
It makes ryze ****ing tanky. Every level you get SUPER REGEN (and in dominion you level ZOMG fast). It gives ryze great early DPS, which is something he desperately needs.

I literally can just go bot cap a point then go push minions for a bit, and when their random guy shows up I just start to poke him with my spells, and when he overcommits I use my health pot and level up and keep troll poking him while he is stuck with low health.

Sure you miss out on 100 ish AP and 750ish mana, woop-de-****in-do. I gots 700ish health. In total you only are missing like 50-60ish damage on each spell. Add in enemy res and you are only missing out on around 30-45ish damage. Compared to 700 health.

KEEP IN MIND THIS IS ALL ASSUMING YOU GET ARCHANGELS MAXED AND ARE IN THE LATE GAME.

Rod of Ages CLEARLY outclasses it for the early game, which is pretty much all dominion is.


Ok now that I have explained my main point in this build I shall explain the more finite ones.

Frozen Heart- Maxes Cooldowns, gives you **** ton of armor, and MANA.

Sorc boots- Moar dmg plx.

Odyns Veil- Blocks sooooooo much magic damage and gives you another random nuke spell. I can not even begin to fathom why Riot would give us such and awesome item. Oh and it gives you EVEN MORE health and mana. TROLLOLOLOLOL.

Will of the ancients- At this point in the game you might be losing fights simply because they have more sustained health gain than you. Spell vamp will make you win those fights.

Hextechgunblade- If you make it this far in the game something is terribly wrong and your team is sucking bad. Or their team has jax(DERP)/rammus(DERP). You need more sustained survivability and more damage. This is the best choice.


NOW: If the game goes past EVEN THAT, which I highly doubt, here is what you should do with all your gold rather than just standing around with it uselessly.

Buy mercury treads. At his point the enemy has Mr and 20 magic pen amounts to 1% extra damage. OH YAH FEEL THE POWER OF THAT DAMAGE!..... Yah tenacity and more MR are much better at this point.

Sell your will of the ancients and buy another hextech gunblade. Hextech gunblade gives you 5 less ability power. It gives you everything else +some more. After you get this you actually have some AD as well so you can kill them even faster.

If the game goes past this, it is glitched. I reccomend your team surrender and just say "Damnnit Riot, fix client plx." by reporting the most annoying person in the game with the above message.

Ranked Play

Their is no ranked play for Dominion yet. IF there is, then here is what I reccomend:

Don't be stupid. Stick with your team and be aware of possible Back door capture attempts. Back door captures will RUIN YOUR DAY.

Pushing

This involves more tact than may seem. Your goal is to get a SLIGHT
SLIGHT
SLIGHT
SLIGHT
SLIGHT minion advantage in one of the lanes (typically bottom).

Basically your goal is to have 2 more caster minions in lane than your opponent. If they are trying to kill yours, you harass them back and kill theirs.

IF this 2 CASTER minion advantage goes unnoticed the lane will slowly snowball into a gigantic wave of your minions crushing their tower.

DO NOT KILL THEIR SHIELD MINION UNLESS YOUR'S IS DEAD. This will make the lane push faster and result in a significantly less effective push.

IF YOU GRABBED PROMOTE:
1.) if an enemy is nearby: if your team will attempt to cap, promote and push the lane FULLY(does not help if you leave a few minions to slow your minions down so you cap before the wave gets there)

2.)if no enemy is nearby: promote, then leave the area. Your minion wave will literally **** up the enemy point as long as the enemy doesn't notice. If the enemy DOES notice, go push out the lane.

Team Work

You see someone chasing your buddy?
Hit them with snare and make your buddy happy.

You see a team fight going on?
a.)your team is winning-go cap another point
b.)your team is losing-go help
c.)your team is losing AND you are too far away and the entire enemy team is there(+none have global teleports/super speed)-go cap a point
d.)your team is losing and you are too far away and only part of the enemy team is there-defend your points and keep the one point loss from becoming a 5-cap. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't let them cap all your points simply because some noob told you to go help them.

Kiting

In MANY MANY MANY MANY Dominion games you will see a Melee DPS fighter champ, or Melee off tanks, or just plain tanks.

Often Tryndamere or Master yi or Jax rape hard. I can tell you how to beat them.

Here it is:

MOVE IN BETWEEN YOUR SPELLS.

This mitigates SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much damage. Especially with your snare. If they cant touch you they cant damage you or gain life or do ****. This is what makes ryze such a beast in Dominion. You can literally 1v1/1v2 their carries because they cant touch you and get sustain nuked hard.

HECK if you are having EXTREME problems with their SUPER SPEED, grab a RYALI'S CRYSTAL SCEPTER before Will of the Ancients. It will make it near impossible for a single melee to touch you.

Summary

In conclusion.

Rod of Ages>Archangel's
Ryze is tanky as hell.
Pushing minions does not mean obliterate the enemy minion wave.
Communicate with your team otherwise you may will have a hard time winning in Dominion.
DO NOT LET THE ENEMY BACKDOOR YOUR POINTS.
Kiting>Melee DPS.

Good Luck, and remember Ryze is not ZOMG burst damage. He is "ZOMG WHY THE **** WON'T YOU DIE" trololololol sustained damage.
