Although this guide is not fully updated, I found it helpful. I have a couple of comments though:

1. I was against a Ziggs in mid one time, and I decided to get boots early on since the author mentioned that dodging skill shots is important in this matchup. Even if you have enough gold for 3x Doran's Ring after the first recall (which I did), 2x Doran's Ring + Boots of Speed also works, which gives you enough additional gold for a ward or some potions (I bought a vision ward for example). If you have more gold than that, it might be better to get something else. Also, getting early boots makes it that much easier to dodge the skill shots.

2. The runes at the top of the page are different from in the middle of the page. I did not have the time to look at this in detail when preparing for a match and I went with the default rune set listed. If I were to edit this, I might create two more tabs for the runes and label the current one "Default Runes", while adding "vs. AP" and "vs. AD" for the other two sets provided. The note is there, but it makes it a little unclear.

Nonetheless, this guide was quite helpful to me.

I like your guide, but I have a few things to say; the first is that you say that Sorc Shoes are the best boots for Veigar, a statement I strongly disagree with. I feel that getting cap CDR through Ionian boots of Lucidity is a MUCH better use of your boots for a few reasons:

    It helps you farm faster

It helps you harass and control the field better

It reduces your downtime between spells, massively improving your snowball potential with moar nukes, and massively improving your relevance in extended fights since you can keep dropping mini-nukes after your main burst until the entire enemy team is dead.

Compared to Sorc Shoes which will supplement your damage, something you can already do with more Q farm, and will leave you with a longer downtime between casts.

Secondly, I feel like TP is a far superior pick to Ignite as well since Veigar nukes so hard that ignite becomes useless pretty fast in my experience, and in his early game where it would be useful, poking a little bit to make up the difference before bursting them down is easily done.(I saw the section in the guide mentioning this as an alternative to ignite, but I decided to mention this too)

I'm only Silver II, but rushing cap CDR and using TP has resulted in numerous perfect games(as in 0 deaths, with 10+ kills more often than not), and in the games where I don't survive everything, I still have managed a 3 kills for every death ratio or better. The combination of the CDR with the lane presence of TP allows you to get through your weak phase and into your strong phase in record time since you can farm up quickly and move on to farming your laner.

One last thing I personally do that isn't necessarily all that important is I put a second point in E early. Why? Because at rank 1 if you use everything they still have a split second when they get unstunned to dodge your W or heal, immunity, etc. By putting the second point in they'll remained stunned through your entire burst without any hope of survival if they get caught. Maybe you can throw everything down fast enough to make a rank 1 E work, but losing 50 base damage on dark matter to get the extra reliability on E is worth in my honest opinion.

This guide is excellent, veigar is the champion whom I play most and I looked for a build after the revision of veigar and I can say that if that is not a build voucher no other one will be him. Peace And Veigar :D

There are lot of things i agree with, however ignite on veigar??? you said it yourself, you should never get in range of using it...(most of the times its overkill anyway) besides veigar benifits much more from teleport(helps u farm q, dont miss teamfight with important targets u have to asasinate) heal, when u are low with hp on lane and u still need like 200-300 more gold so u can buy an item simply heal yourself, nice sustain, and helps u survive great nukes like annie when they flash on you but i think barier is more usefull for dat. Then u said never take ghost?? Veigar lacks mobility, especialy early game, i found flash+ghost very usefull, but i rather take heal instead of ghost for that 30% ms just what needed to escape ganks(u want to spend as much time as u can ALIVE FARMING early game) Other thing no liandrys??, its not taken on veigar for its overtime dmg, its taken for extra magic penetration, and if u do the math late game +15 penetration is better than extra 50 ability power (as there is no much items for m. penetration to chose from). I dont know if u mentioned it(i dont remember and im lazy to check it again) rylai and echo are very very usefull items.

I noticed that you still include Deathfire Grasp in your game play strategies (namely character match-ups). Seeing how the item has been removed from the game, it would seem fitting to change your advice accordingly, especially considering that you've named the page "s5 revamped etc, etc." Nothing more than an acknowledgement on my part. I'm really just a decent League player, but am trying to get better, and reading through guides helps me considerably with that. With outdated information, though, it's hard for me to keep up with everything and, therefore, hard for me to keep up in the game. Other than that, I have nothing but positive feedback about your guide. I'm extremely new to Veigar, and your walk-through in the different laning phases vs. various champions, as well as the general "game plan" for him, has had a serious impact on how I look to play Vei. =D Keep up the great Guides, and I look forward to seeing updates in the future!

I'm mainly curious to know if Luden's Echo is worth getting or not. I haven't been able to test it myself as it's so expensive, and I don't want to take a risk buying an item that won't work as effectively as the other items listed in this guide. I was thinking since it's a 120 AP item, it might be a good replacement for Rylai's if the game is going smoothly enough that you have no need for the 400 HP boost. Since he's a burst mage, giving up the slowing effect isn't too big of a loss. Though I suppose them being slowed means that there is the potential to land another Q if they just barely manage to survive. Then again, the additional 20 AP might be enough to have killed them. It's a very complicated series of scenarios...
Additionally, I was curious if Athene's is now the better option over Morell, as they now have the same mana regen.

Why do you max Baleful Strike first? Personaly I max it last. Mostly I got my Event Horizon lvl 2 or 3 depending who I'm against then I max Dark Matter. I really don't think it should be otherwise.
But please explain this to me ^^

The higher lvl it is the more ap per kill you get +1 lvl1 +2 lvl2 +3 lvl3ect... thats why

Just for an update for those who follow the guide. I'm pausing its development until the Veigar changes are finalized and then I'll continue revamping it. The removal of DFG really hurt him and all this skillshot BS isn't winning me over. We'll have to see.
