Jungle - AP Assassin
Not Updated For Current Season
Hey, I'm Chaz19 My current account is "GetRektGGEzLife) from EUW and Elise is my favourite and most played jungler. She is so versatile; she can be an offtank or a burst mage, which makes her so fun! Her early game ganks are very strong and she is also decent late game due to her % damage and 2 second stun. She is also great at duelling due to her spiderlings and sustain. Elise's key feature, though, is her insane early game.
Pros / Cons
Strong early game
Half of her abilities don't require mana
Can build AP Offtank or AP Assassin
Hard to master
Need to land your stun to succeed at ganks
I take magic pen marks for more overall damage and I don't think AS marks are needed because her clears are fine without them so it's better to go damage. Armour seals for protection in the jungle and against AD champs. I take Scaling MR Glyphs because you don't often face that much AP at low levels so scaling will suit much better for mid to late game. AP and AS Quints for damage and some sustain since she is an AP Assassin.
I go 12/0/18 as Elise's base damage is high so she can afford to go tanky masteries to help her scale into mid game.
I start with the Hunter's Talisman because Elise has good sustain in the jungle; she has more mana problems than health problems. I buy a refillable potion because it saves a lot of money in the long run and it is all Elise really needs because of her natural sustain. If you do struggle with health and mana problems though, you could upgrade to Hunter's Potion.
As for core items, I take Tracker's Knife because I like to have vision control, hence why I take Oracle's; I can destroy enemy wards too. Obviously rush the AP jungle item (Runic Echoes) then buy CDR boots because the build lacks CDR, then go for Rylai's since you will almost always be slowing you enemies - it also gives AP and lots of health, it's an amazing all round item for Elise.
At this stage, you can either go for more AP or start to go tanky, depending on how you and your team are doing. If you're ahead, you can go Zhonya's and Abyssal and finish with Void Staff to snowball and make plays. If you're behind you can go Randuin's (More CC, good against auto attack based champs) or Dead Man's (all round good) or Visage (against magic damage).
Jungling / Gameplan
I always start bot side because you should get a better leash. Elise isn't totally reliant on blue, though it does help a lot, because half of her abilities don't cost mana. ALso, getting red buff by level 3 allows for an easier level 3 gank or getting the Rift Scuttler easier.
After I clear the bot side of the jungle, if I think the enemy jungler won't try to take my other buff, I will go into the river and take rift scuttler or go straight for a level 3 gank if mid or bot is pushed and looks like some free kills. If there is a chance you can make it happen, definitely go for it, since Elise's level 3 is extremely strong. They will almost defnitely burn a flash or even die if you can land your stun.
Your sustain is good so you can keep clearing building up your Strength of the Ages. I do like to do Rift Scuttlers when they're up, they are easy to do on Elise. AFter your jungle is cleared or most of it is cleared, or you see an easily gankable lane, go for it if your HP isn't too low. After you've done a few ganks and done a big clear, you will have enough gold for most of your jungle item and boots. It really depends and will probably be different every game. Also, since Elise's sustain is great, I tend to not back and just stay clearing though it will leave me weaker than the enemies since I will be aat an item disadvantage. So it is good to back after you have 1.5k+ gold.
You should continue to look for ganks and skirmishes since this is where Elise excels. After you have boots and Rylai's you are a force to be reckoned with and people aren't going to get away from you.
You should try to do Rift Herald every game since you have spiderlings and built in %HP damage and sustain. It is very easy for Elise, though you do need a teammate of course. Similarly, you should try to take as many dragons as you can for the same reasons.
It can be hard to close out long games as Elise, since she does fall off slightly. You just have to land a stun on one of their carries and burst them down. You can also poke before teamfights with your Volatile Spiderling.
Elise is a really strong jungler right now, she is very fun and extremely rewarding to play. Good luck and have fun playing Elise!
