no no no just no, there is no fun in this lane. She clears your turrets like nothing and it literally hurts to use q in this matchup. You will want to max w and farm, ask jungler for ganks, and try to go for an e ULT w combo to kill her, if you play it right.
Malzahar
Another "counter" of heimer. He clears the wave relatively fast and using q just means he gets extra gold, so try not to max it if you can. REALLY EASY TO GANK, so wait for one and e ULT w or even ULT e to set the gank up. His general build will be pretty tanky mid to late game so your awesome burst is something risky so play this matchup smart.
Lux
Annoying to deal with for sure, but dodge her q and she shouldn't be able to kill you. Poke her with w.
Azir
Its like they made this ***** to outrange you with his w. He clears turrets pretty easily. You should be able to kill him at lv 6 or roughly before. land grenade, place turret, and ult w and he should be dead. This can be tricky though so farming under tower works too :D
Katarina
pretty easy. She will start boots and health pots so take advantage of this, you can make her go through them with a combo or two. SAVE GRENADE FOR HER SHUNPO, and easy kill. She has to go where you are standing so make sure turrets are up around you. Ulting grenade in teamfights might help when playing vs her.
Ahri
Skill matchup really. She can clear your turrets and trades really well. If you know she is going to all in you, you can place a turret in her direction so it can absorb her charm. Landing grenade is pretty crucial and you can punish her there.
Annie
She can auto q your turret to death so bait out when she wants to kill it and burst her. You outrange her with both e and w so keep that in mind. Care for lv 6 as her burst is stupid. Also her autos are just shy of turret range so that sucks.
Brand
I dont understand why people think this guy counters you. You block his stun with your turrets and as long as you avoid his pillar you should be fine. VERY squishy and is easily ganked so ask for help but really you shouldnt need it. His ult can bounce off your turrets though..
Cassiopeia
She is a decent threat to you as her dot damage takes turrets easily. She HAS to be in close range to you to use twin fangs so just grenade and w her always. Try and gain dominance early so she knows not to try and hurt your turrets or simply dont use them often unless trading .
Cho'Gath
ANNOYING CHAMPION, his sustain is stupid and his silence means no quick reactions for you. I suggest asking your jungler to help you because you are lucky to kill him by yourself. Try not to feed this guy (get it xD ) and try to push other lanes or gank bottom a couple times. He has a long animation when he goes for his knockup so dodging this is key and you shouldn't die.
Diana
She needs to auto to get farm affectively and auto her as much as possible. Try to dodge her q and bait out her shield thing and just punish her. When she hits level 6 things get scary. Dont be too agressive anymore but punish her before level 6 and it will make things easier.
Ezreal
Adc's in the midlane are not a matchup in your favour. Yes they are squishy but they can safely auto your turrets, and ezreal is especially annoying because his q makes it so much more easy. Its pretty much a farm lane so dont let him kill your turrets for free. Dont be too cocky either because his burst ( im assuming ap mid) is definitely good.
Fizz
This is also a skill matchup because his e allows him to do some really annoying things vs you. If you don't land your grenade you die. If he is smart he will q on your face, shark you, and trickster to finish while you are hopeless. You can definitely punish this guy and zone him from farming though so as long as he doesnt know he can trade with you then this is what you want. He for sure cant take your turrets for free nor push anywhere as fast as you early on so i suggest poking him under tower but be wary of ganks
Heimerdinger
LOL well avoid versing him at ALL costs. Such a threat and you dont want to be the guy to feed him.
Karthus
He should never be able to kill you in lane. He can get out of control if he gets fed by ulting. I suggest placing turrets out of his reach so he is forced to come close to you so you can punish.
Morgana
If she maxes w, which she probably will, then this lane gets stupid. She can clear lanes and play safe like no other champion. Baiting her blackshield is hard so ask for a gank and if she goes to ult you, ult q and zhonyas her shackles. If not, grenade and ult w to kill her when her blackshield is down.
LeBlanc
meh. Her q w combo can hurt but you can hurt her more. Play behind your turrets and push her lane. She cant do much there and take note of your opponents playstyle, that is if they like to jump back to w or stay for a few seconds. Attempt to grenade and poke with w.
Orianna
skill matchup. Play out of her q range and farm with turrets or w. Wait for her to throw a q and miss, walk up and attempt to trade with her but be cautious. Your burst does more than hers.
Yasuo
He has gotten pretty good recently with the mastery changes. His sustain is what makes this lane a problem. A good yas can take out your turrets simply and this creates a problem. Dont let him touch your turrets and bait out the windwall, punish accordingly. This is the hardest champion to land your grenade in my opinion so good luck.
Ziggs
His range beats yours and does a similar job compared to you as a champion. I suggest going banner in this matchup and try to poke him down. DO NOT PLACE TURRETS NEAR MINIONS. Just dont and make him want to auto the turrets to punish him easier. He has great waveclear so max w if needed.
Veigar
free stacks... zhonyas may be your best friend versing this champion. Stay away from him mid to late game because he will for sure want you off the rift.
Vladimir
You wont kill him... he wont kill you... watch out for around level 9 where he really starts to dominate the lane. Try not playing against this guy, but if you do you have to continuously apply pressure so he cant heal up for free.
Xerath
Just because he has aoe and range does not make him a counter to you. When he is charging his q it makes it really easy to grenade and ult him. Keep an eye out for this and this is an easy lane. Also dont stand in the middle of minions, lets him utilise his q and w to the best it can do.
Twisted Fate
He has decent waveclear but great map control. Take teleport to go wherever he is going or push him under tower so he cant leave. A squishy apponent but dont underestimate him, he is incredible and fits in almost every comp. If he leaves, take his tower.
Talon
A decent ad matchup as his w can be annoying. Tiamat no longer gives him that aoe he needed to take out the turrets so this matchup got easier. Again like katarina, he has to be ontop of you so grenade and burst him with w.
Riven
Pretty easy matchup. If she wants to harass you she cant get passed your turrets and if she focuses the turret, punish her for it. Make her try hard to get her own farm and watch as she cries for ganks
Irelia
You can trade against her and almost always come out on top. She will want to rush a phage against you so take not that she will get slightly faster. She may use on of your turrets to engage on you so take note of your turrets health. Normally she will be farming under tower. Not a hard lane at all
Zed
If he ults, grenade him and rocket his face. A zhonyas makes it more of a problem for him to kill you so rush this if you want. Do not set your turrets up so he can kill multiple at once and the lane is pretty simple. Dodge his q and he shouldnt ever kill you.
Akali
Before 6 make her cry. After 6 buy a vision ward and make her cry some more.
Anivia
You literally have to kill her twice and this can be a problem because your abilities early on are on a fairly long cooldown. She has nice waveclear and underestimated burst so take care when stepping close. She most likely build roa and a tear so take advantage of the lack of damage she has early on.
If you think all you do with this guy is ULT Q and zhonyas then please leave this page xD Anyways, Oh man this champion is amazing! Many people believe his skill level caps at upgrading your turret and clicking zhonyas, but actually there is SOOOO much utility with his ult. I've been maining this champ since i started in s3 (when jinx came out) and am currently in plat and going for diamond this season.
This champion is a mid to high range ap caster and dominates in, well, pretty much anything. Want cc in a teamfight, hes got it! Want to kill squishy backlines, easy! Objectives? Or maybe damage over time is what you want, doesn't matter because his kit lets you do all of these and more.
I personally use him as a lane bully and worry more about getting the kill before taking the tower but you can focus either one. Practice using your grenade as it is an interesting skill shot to get used to but this ability seperates good heimerdingers to amazing heimerdingers.
And YES this champion can be considered easy to play, but this champion is very hard to master and involves good decision making skills to utilize his skill set to best every situation.
