Hello MobaFire! My name is Luís am i play in the EUW server under the nickname LfilR. I started playing League of Legends in the beginning of Season Five thanks to my very good friend 1mpuls1v3x and i really loved the game (i was a Dota/Dota 2 player before). In the beginning the skill shots where the biggest challenge i encounter, but now, i don't see myself playing without them. I started with ADCs (Ashe) and level up till 30 using (Ashe/Jax/Xin and Sona), focusing in the jungle as my main role. One day i decided to try the Amumu because it was free and i instant fell in love with the champion. I really liked the abilities and the gameplay. Amumu if used correctly, have the potential to change every game because of is crowd control. To share the love i have for him, here is my guide. This is the first guide i'm writing in MobaFire and i will appreciate any and all feedback that you guys may provide me, please reconsider any downvotes before the testing of my guide.

Amumu is a very good pick to play Normal or Ranked Queue this Season 6. You will use it in the Jungle with the role of tank that will absorb lots of damage and do lots of damage with your CC. As all champions, Amumu have weaknesses and strengths. Amumu greatest asset is the ability to initiate ganks and teamfights with Bandage Toss and or Flash, followed by a well timed Curse of the Sad Mummy that can change every fight.

In conclusion, this guide will be a Amumu jungler guide, written specifically for Summoner's Rift. This guide will cover summoner spells, masteries, runes, ability sequencing, items and build order. (gameplay will be posted in the future with information from my ranked games in S6) please be patient.



- Flash is vital on Amumu, because of the mobility that adds to him. You will need it to stay alive in early ganks and for your own ganks, to reposition in team fights, to create gap closers and much more.

- Smite is the best spell in the game for junglers! It will help you to jungle your buffs faster and safer. You will have the opportunity to kill/steal every monster in the game including Dragon, Rift Herald and Baron Nashor, if you use it in the right time.



Masteries are a very important part of League of Legends. As you can see below this will be the masteries available for Season 6. I already selected the masteries that i think you should run this season 6 with Amumu in the Jungle.



Choices within each Tree could vary a lot from player to player, as it comes down to preference, but for Amumu in Season 6 I think there is only two viable options: 0/12/18 with the Keystone Bond of Stone or 0/18/12 with the Keystone Thunderlord's Decree.



I suggest you to use the 0/12/18 with the Keystone Bond of Stone, because you want to be tanky, and the Armor and Magic Resist that you get from Legendary Guardian plus the % of Damage Reduction you get from Bond of Stone is really good and it will help you stay alive longer in ganks and team fights.



There are many variations of Runes that can be used for Amumu but I think that the runes i choose below give him the best bonus for Season 6.



- 9x Greater Mark of Magic Penetration is the choice for Marks. Amumu deals Magic Damage and the 7.8 Magic Penetration that you get from these Marks will help you dealing the most damage possible with all of his abilities.

- 9x Greater Seal of Armor is the choice for Seals. It will help you in the jungle, in ganks and team fights, since most of the times you will be playing vs 3/4 AD champions. If you don't want to use flat runes, you can use Greater Seal of Scaling Armor, they are a good choice to. I just prefer flat ones to help in early game.

- 9x Glyph of Cooldown Reduction is the choice for Glyphs. I use this runes because I want to achieve 40% CDR, without getting to many CDR items. I believe that CDR in Amumu is the way to go. This runes will give you 7.5% CDR that combined with 1x Greater Quintessence of Cooldown Reduction that gives 2.5%, you will get 10% at level 1 and with the 20% from Frozen Heart and finally 10% from Ionian Boots of Lucidity or 10% from Crest of Insight "Blue Buff", you will have 40% CDR.

- 1x Greater Quintessence of Cooldown Reduction is one part of the choices for Quintessences. As explained above, we need this rune to get 2.5% CDR, to achieve 10% at level 1. The sacrifice we make is worth it.

- 2x Greater Quintessence of Ability Power is the other part of the choices for Quintessences. The extra AP you get is really good and i don't see any other 2 Quintessences here giving more bonus to Amumu that this ones.

When it comes to the Skill Sequence with Amumu, you will see that could vary a lot, but for me, this is the right order. You can change the first pick for Bandage Toss, if you are invading with your teammates, like ( Morgana, Blitzcrank, Thresh or others), but beware, because if you fail the invade, you will be punished in the jungle for picking Bandage Toss as first skill. As you can see below, I only get Bandage Toss in level 4.

The first skill that we will max is, Tantrum, because we want to be tanky and do damage at the same time for a better early game, and Tantrum, just do that. You will do damage, plus you will get a passive that reduce damage from physical attacks and every time you get autoattacked, the cooldown on Tantrum's active is reduced by 0.5 seconds.

The second skill that we will max is, Bandage Toss. Since we will rush the 40% CDR, as soon Bandage Toss is level 5 (this will happen at level 13) it will have only 5 second cooldown. This means that you will do 2/3 Bandage Toss per fight and that is huge. No one will escape you.

The last skill that we will max is, Despair, since we will pick Curse of the Sad Mummy, every time it's possible (6/11/16).




There are many items that can be built on Amumu in the jungle, but items like Tracker's Knife - Cinderhulk, Frozen Heart, Liandry's Torment, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Dead Man's Plate, Zhonya's Hourglass, Locket of the Iron Solari, Abyssal Scepter have every thing that Amumu needs.

- You start with 500 gold, and you will buy Hunter's Talisman, that is one piece of Tracker's Knife. You pick Hunter's Talisman, instead of Hunter's Machete, because Amumu uses a lot of mana to clear the jungle. With the 150 gold left, you will buy Refillable Potion, that brings two charges that restore 125 Health over 12 seconds. Last but not least, you will buy the Warding Totem, because vision is the secret to stay alive to all the counter-jungling that you could suffer.
- If you made 675 gold and you returning for the first time to base, you have done well. If you bring more, even better. With this gold you will buy Hunter's Potion, that is the upgrade of Refillable Potion. This potion, will have 5 charges that restore 60 Health and 35 Mana over 8 seconds, each. The best thing about it, is that every time you kill a large monster grants one charge. With the rest of the gold, you will buy Hunter's Machete, that is another piece of the Tracker's Knife and 1x Vision Ward. Don't let your Support do all the Warding, you need to help to.
- Tracker's Knife - Cinderhulk is one of your core items. This item have every thing that you need! You want to be tanky (400 health), you want to give damage ( Bami's Cinder) and you want vision (2 wards) that help you with all the counter-jungling that you could suffer. Boots of Speed, are a must in every champion. The last core item is Frozen Heart, we rush it because we need the 20% CDR that gives and the armor to be tanky. Plus it give you one aura, that reduces the attack speed of nearby enemies by 15% with 1000 range. I could only consider not to build this item in second place, if i am against 3 or 4 AP champions.
- To upgrade your boots, you have three options. Ninja Tabi give you armor and one passive that is great combined with your Tantrum passive. Really great vs AD Teams. For the second choice you have Mercury's Treads. This boots will give you Magic Resistance and Tenacity that you will need vs AP/CC teams. Since I don't have Magic Resistance in runes, I tend to buy this boots a lot. The last option I consider viable, is the Ionian Boots of Lucidity. This boots are a cheap and great way to get 10% CDR. With your runes, this boots and blue buff, you have alredy 30% CDR.
- After you get your core, and upgrade your boots you will go Tank! The next items, are very good because of the Health/AP/MP/Armor and passives that all add to you. Liandry's Torment and Rylai's Crystal Scepter are huge in Amumu. After you get them, you will be one monster that every one will be afraid in every game! Depending on the situation, I can get Liandry's Torment first and then Rylai's Crystal Scepter or vice-versa, but I always get them together. Dead Man's Plate is a really good item and I usually finish my build with him.
- I usually get Zhonya's Hourglass, when i need the extra AP to give more damage. The 2.5 seconds of invulnerability that you can active, are great in the middle of the team fights. I only get Locket of the Iron Solari if my support can't get it. For more Magic Resistance I go Abyssal Scepter that give you AP and reduces the Magic Resist of nearby enemy champions.
