How to: Leblanc
Leblanc is no doubt one of the hardest champions to master. Knowing which spell to mimic decides a good Leblanc from a great Leblanc. And you can't just play her on the first game expecting to be good. It takes a lot of dedication to get to learn a champion, but it is worth it. Let's move on to the Pros and Cons.
Pros / Cons
Extremely high burst
High CC for a Burst Mage
Great Lane Bully
Super fun with the JUKES
Falls off late game
R-Q-W-E is the usual skill order you should go for. It does give you the most damage however your wave clear will be incredibly weak. You could go for R-W-Q-E if you want more wave clear and mobility.
Kill combo: Q-R-W-E. Lead with sigil of silence so you can mimic with r giving you the maximum damage you need. Then follow up with w to pop your mimicked q or get in range to land your ethereal chain. If you land your w you will most likely kill them but if you land your ethereal chains you can snare them and catch up to them for the kill. However, you have to be careful if you don't get the kill and get caught. Keep track of where you distortion'ed from so you can w back again and get yourself out of there.
Escape Combo: E-W-R and repeat. Before distortioning away you should ensure they can't chase by snaring them with ethereal chains then using distortion and mimicked distortion. You never want to cast a q because it forces you to stop for a small moment to cast it. If you want to turn on them you could do that but if you want to GTFO don't cast anything but those 3 spells
Leblanc is all about getting your burst out as fast as possible. Most of the time on your first time playing a new champion, you won't smart cast anything. However, for Leblanc it is crucial you get your damage out as fast as possible. Once you get a good hang of her, smart cast your Q and R so you can pull of the sigil of silence - mimic combo as fast as possible.
For escaping, be sure to use your distortion from a bush. Jump towards another bush and once inside, jump back to your original spot where you first casted distortion. The enemy will suspect you to keep going in the same direction and they will have to assume because you ran into the fog of war. And since you have vision of them, you may choose not to go back to the bush if they are lurking around it, covering your escape.
When chasing, try to avoid stacking your chains together because the slow does not stack. Once you land your first chain and they are snared, throw out your mimicked chain to ensure another chain so when they try to run away again they will be slowed and rooted again.
In teamfights, Leblanc is very weak because eliminating targets is difficult if they stay close to their team. However, you should restrain from trying to constantly go for their adc and possibly go for the mid laner/assassin as well. If you're against a zed, and he jumps on your adc, you know he will make it out alive no matter what if he just jumps back to where he ulted from. So instead of letting him kill your adc to allow you to get a shot at killing their adc, target zed. You have a total of a 3 second silence if you pop your first and mimicked sigil of silence. This will be able to kill him and save your adc rather than just trading adc for adc.
Bjergsen shows us why sigil of silence - mimic isn't always the best route. Great decision making from Bjergsen to adapt to the situation he was in and instead goes for the cc rather than damage.
When the Mid Lane Legends plays Leblanc
Amazing mechanics from Faker and decision making, going for the easiest target instead of the ideal target. Sometimes, the ADC isn't the only one you should be killing. (I feel bad for Zyra and Elise for getting killed so much)
Overall, Leblanc is a versatile, multi dimensional champion with a ton of different ways to play and a ton of different ways to adapt to your current situation. No doubt one of the most fun mid laners to player with her interesting kit which allows for many flashy or strategical plays. I hope you have learned a lot from this guide and gotten better at this champion. My hope is for Leblanc to be a hotly contested pick all around the world, and Bjergsen is making that dream come true <3 TSM. :D (but she is a pain to play against)
