Intro

Hey there, welcome to the ultimate (in my opinion) Jungle Rengar guide.

This guide will show you how to play Rengar in a different way, giving you both damage, sustain and still maintaining the tank aspect throughout the game.

About me:
I am a veteran League player since beta, and recently won my way to Diamond with meta champions like Eve, Elise, Caitlyn and LeBlanc.

Items/Runes/Masteries Explanation & Strategy

I used to play Rengar as a pure AD assassin but I realized that late game it doesn't work if your team doesn't have at least 2 tanky bruisers. I found myself killing a carry but ultimately dying, or just failing to kill the carry and still dying, not contributing to my team at all.

So I experimented a lot and ended up with this build, which gives me early game damage and sustain, and late game tankiness. The enemy will usually engage and focus you on team fights which is a HUGE mistake because they usually think you are an AD assassin, and while you soak up their damage and heal some of it with your W skill, your carries dish out tons of damage, and by the time they finally kill you, they will take too much damage themselves!

Early game you will be going for stacking your only damage item (You can also get Botrk later on if you're doing well, after the tank items), but basically this is your main jungle clear item and will stack you with magic damage on each clear/kill/assist.

Later on you go for full tank, depending on their team/fed champs:
Rush spirit visage (Best start) or go for Randuin if they are full ad. Then after Spirit Visage and Randuin you can go for Frozen Heart or Botrk, depending again on the composition. This will make you a scary*** tanky bruiser with heals CC and damage.

Jungling

I usually start with Red and then gank bot/top for the slow, building up 4 or 5 (prefer 5) stacks and then E to snare. Try to jump from the bush top or bot since it will give you that gap closer, into a minion and then E. Don't forget to ping your ally before you gank. Try to show your presence even though the lane is ungankable due to a push, so you won't get flamed for not ganking the lane :P
As soon as you hit level 6 go gank, don't stall, and gank with some HP!! Don't go ganking with half hp and die in the process.

Team Work

A tanky rengar CAN INITIATE FIGHTS SAFELY! You can initiate on their ad carry and still soak up a lot of damage after. If you didn't kill their ad/ap, try to chase them away from the fight while focusing on the second squishy target. This will keep the real damage dealers away from your carries, while your support/tank defends them. While being focuses, try to hit up stacks as much as you can to heal up with W and be even harder to kill. Sooner or later, late game you will be able to peel for your team pretty hard!!

And remember, LAUGH BEFORE YOU'RE ABOUT TO DIE!
