Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Flash - Although you can use your Q as one, you can initiate surprisingly with your R or Q with it.
Ignite - Grab some of those early game kills after your combo
You can grab other spells but these are my recommended.
I run a full flat AP rune page because in most cases, early game is everything.
But I have alternatives above.
A simple 21-0-9 mastery set to keep you on the damage side because you are going to end up very tanky and hard to kill/catch AND will be doing damage a tank shouldn't be doing.
Q - Very good damage early game
W - Maxed later because isn't very great early game (Scales with HP) - You will have loads of HP late game
E - OP Slooooooooooow, enemy team is gonna bawl so hard those motherf****** gonna wanna find you. Plus when your jungler is gonna gank, how're they gonna have a chance to run?
R - Level 6, 11, 13
In most cases YOU will be the initiator, so ping your team so they know when you're going in.
That is all.
Creeping / Jungling
Grab blue if you want but I say your AP carry should grab it instead, but if no one really needs it take it :D
Other than that, leave red buff for your AD carry's.
Boots + 3HP Pots - You have loads of slow, why not be faster then the enemy? Plus last hits.
Upgrade boots to Merc Treads - Other team has load of CC
Upgrade boots to Ninja Tabi - Other team has load of AD
You can either get a Philosopher stone next AND/OR Catalyst Protector
Next, turn your Catalyst into a Rod of Ages
*Here's where you start getting tanky*
Other team has heavy AD, Grab - Sunfire(Great with W)
Other team has heavy AP, Grab - Abyssal Sceptor (MR, MR reduction AND AP)
Turn your Philosopher stone into Shurelya's Reverie (GREAT for your teammates when you have initiated and enemy team is running away and you need to catch up.
*Look at real threat of enemy team*
- Build QS Sash if they're using their CC on you to get you away (LOL)
- Build a Randuin's Omen if (once again) their team is AD heavy/on-hit characters such as kog or teemo
- Build either a Force of Nature(More tough to kill, faster) or Banshee's veil (MR but a little more damage to add to your W)
