Just some basics:

Hello, this is my first guide so I really hope I do well :D
This guide is for a semi - tanking Swain as the title sais.
I tried it out alot and it really works out pretty well. As first item I usually take the ruby chrystal, because I think Swain has enough manaregeneration and I dont usually need a healthpot. If you want to get some extra AP and manaregeneration at the beginning just start with a Doran's Ring and a Health Pot. For shoes I usually take Sorcerer's Shoes. Alternatives are: Ninja Tabi (If they have a heavy physical DPS team), Mercury Treads (If they have just too much CC) or Ionian Boots of Lucidity (If they have many squishies that don't do too well). Get the shoes at any point you like, I recommend you to get them after Rod of Ages, but you can get them after Catalyst the Protector if you feel like you need the extra MS. For early game try not to get harrassed too much and get the golem buff ASAP after level 6. For midgame try to support your team as much as possible and farm whenever you can (keep golem buff up if noone else needs it too much). In late game you should be pretty bulky especially if minions are around. I usually can tank 2-3 non-physical carries without taking damage. You shouldn't die anymore now if you play intelligent. You can easily tank turrets as long as minions are around and you put out some decent amounts of damage.

Well, that was my gude :) I hope you enjoyed it! Try it out and let me know if it works for you! Greetz: Sindwinder

PS.: I hope my English isn't too terrible >.<
