Introduction

Hello! I am My Penta Dreams, or my in game username, AriGreyPlays. I play on the NA server and have been playing league for about a year. I really struggle with finding my main position because I love them all so much. I'd say my preferred role would either be Mid or AD Carry. This guide is to explain my AD carry side of things.

Twitch is a marksmen with a small bit of assassin sprinkled in. He has a weak laning phase, but is helped by his amazing teamfight potential. His rat-ta-tat-tat make him a dangerous foe in a fight. If he sits in the back lines with a high critical strike chance he will tear through an enemy team and his Ambush can help him re-position to do more damage. This build focuses around the fact that his ult can crit and stack up massive damage with his Contaminate. Twitch has the potential to hard carry though you usually won't be able to. He can still put up enough fight for his team to catch up and get back into the game.

Itemization

Now in most AD Carries like Twitch and Vayne You would probably not like to rush Infinity Edge something else like Statikk Shiv or Blade of the Ruined King. Well this build treats him differently and recognizes a whole different aspect to twitch. It keeps the marksmen side of him strong, but the assassin inside not to far behind. With this build you can Ambush and sneak up to an enemy squishy and kill them before they know you are there. We start off with Infinity Edge to give him the starting damage and critical strike chance to play around with. Next I pick up a Phantom Dancer to grant the very helpful attack speed and more critical strike chance. Just with the two items you already have a 50% crit chance and by this time you should already have hit level 6. Berserker's Greaves are pretty much the only boots you should every buy on Twitch the attack speed is critical to his build. Next we will talk about an item that just puts the bread and butter onto the items and we are only at the 4th one. Essence Reaver is a fantastic item in Twitch it provides critical chance, CDR, and easy mana regeneration. When you have Essence Reaver you should have 40% CDR which sets your ult on a 54 second cool down. Right now will all these items you have a 70% Critical strike chance, 40% CDR, Great Damage, Great Attack speed, and mana regeneration to spam your Contaminate and Venom Cask. Runaan's Hurricane is the next item in the build as it helps your late game waveclear, applies poison stacks, and gives you the 100% critical strike chance. This is where twitch becomes a GOD in team fights, if he is in the backlines and let us just say that Sejuani uses her Glacial Prison and freezes several or even all of the enemy team, you may activate rat-ta-tat-tat and tear down the enemies with crit after crit. If you see an enemy champion about to die, you have the stacks to use your Contaminate on and secure kills. Much like Kalista's Rend. Next we have a choice, between more lifesteal and armor penetration. This is usually determined by the elo you are playing in. In lower elo you could sneak away a BotRK while in higher elo a Last Whisper into a Mortal Reminder or Lord Dominik's Regards. Although if you are snowballing a BotRK might work in a higher elo.

Spells

rat-ta-tat-tat Twitch's basic attacks infect the target, dealing true damage each second. Otherwise known as Twitch's not so deadly venom. It really is not going to make a difference on it's own. The stacks, however, are nice.

After 1.5 seconds of not taking damage, Twitch is stealthed and gains 20% Movement Speed for up to 4/5/6/7/8 seconds. Upon leaving stealth, he gains 30/40/50/60/70% Attack Speed for 5 seconds. When an enemy champion affected by Deadly Venom dies, Ambush's cooldown is reset. This is just a great ability, long invisibility and has resets for re positioning.

Twitch hurls a cask of venom that explodes in an area adding 2 stacks of Deadly Venom and slowing targets by 25/30/35/40/45% for 3 seconds. The slow on this ability is nice for catching people by surprise when your break from your Ambush and it will apply stacks of Deadly Venom.

Deals 20/35/50/65/80 physical damage plus 15/20/25/30/35 (+20% Ability Power) (+0) per stack of Deadly Venom to all nearby enemies affected by Deadly Venom. This is your main finisher ability when enemies try to escape or you need an extra bit of damage to finish them off.

For 5 seconds Twitch gains 300 Attack Range and 20/30/40 Bonus Attack Damage. For the duration, his basic attacks become piercing bolts that deal 20% less damage to subsequent targets, down to a minimum of 40% damage. This is Twitch's bread and butter. The ability than can lead to a shift in game momentum. If used correctly it can dominate a teamfight and lead to several multikills.

Skill Sequence

rat-ta-tat-tat The skill sequence in which I display seems a bit off when actually it helps with cs and early trades. On several occasions I've had kills just because of the way I chose to max my skills. First of all you want to start and max your E this is useful for last hitting if you are still working on that, but the utility really comes in when you start trading with your opponent. If you have a support that can lock down your opposing laner, the damage you can deal without items is pretty large. Next you want to max your Ambush, because this is when roaming phase is coming around during the later skills in your Ambush. When your lane is pushed you may be free to walk to mid lane and go invisible, to try and pick up some more free kills. You will max your W last as it is just a slow and the stacks of your passive it applies does not increase. As always take a point in your Rat-ta-tat-tat when available.

Spells

Heal is the most used summoner spell on AD Carry aside from flash and nothing is changed here. The heal and speed boost of it provides the best utility. Flash is a must, Twitch has no peel for himself except his Ambush and that can be delayed with damage and the small slow from Venom Cask. If you and your support feel like you could try and snowball you may have your support take ignite, only if they feel comfortable with it.

Utilizing Stealth

Using Twitch's Ambush is a fantastic way to get yourself fed and even preform some late game assassinations. It is best to start looking for kills after the laning phase starts to wash out. An even better time is to be the first to roam out and really catch another laner off-guard. When you roam I often go to mid as it is the closest lane to you and easiest to pick up a kill due to the opposing laner being not that tanky. You will need to Ambush before you get into the side river bushes to try and avoid enemy vision. Remember if they have a pink ward, you will be spotted. If you successfully sneak into lane let your mid laner know, if they are there, to be ready as you should come out of the Ambush and immediately throw your Venom Cask at their feet. This will let you get some autos out to stack your Deadly Venom passive and have a great kill secure with your finisher Contaminate. If the enemy team is grouped around mid lane and your team is with out you, slowly walk to the lane avoiding vision as best as possible. When you are within a distance to reach the lane with Ambush do so. A great angle to take is more of a diagonal back-sitting angle. If you are coming from base a front angle will work, but this is where position for your rat-ta-tat-tat is critical. You want to stay behind your tanks so they can block and tank some of the poke flying through and you will also want to have your ambush up. As soon as some engage is thrown Ambush and find the best straight enemy line. You are moving left and right in the lane. Look for where the enemies are lining up and activate rat-ta-tat-tat. This is a very small window to be efficient with your ult so you need to be quick. If done correctly you will shred through even the tanks on the team. If you have full stacks of Deadly Venom on some of the enemy mages, don't be scared to use your Contaminate it could take them out of the fight quicker than you expect.

Twitch is best used with supports that can lock down a single target in bottom lane. Supports like Thresh, Leona, Blitzcrank, Alistar, Nautilus would help you dominate the lane as when they use some CC you can use your Venom Cask and start teeing of on the enemy carry. It is hard for them to survive taking the CC from your support, the slow of your Venom Cask and the stacks of your Deadly Venom. If they try to get away you still have your Contaminate to finish them off. |
