Introduction

I have been playing Shaco since I first learned to play the game. Shaco was my first champion that I ever bought with IP, because he was unique, hes a f-ing demon jester! At first I thought he was really weak. I would jungle and have mediocre results, building AD on him made him ridiculously squish. I was just tired of it! I love the concept of the character, and I think this is the only way he's viable. I've seen so many shacos just FAIL miserably going AD.

Masteries

Ah, the masteries. Basically 9 into offense for the cooldown and magic pen, and then 21 in defense for extra attack speed, AP, and survivability. The high HP from randuins and warmogs makes the 4% really make a difference. You could go 9/0/21 instead if you prefer a little bit more firepower.

Items

AP items are for damage....randuins is for armor, a great active for slowing them down so that your jitb's can nuke them, and an easier way to get away from ranged dpses. Warmogs is so you dont die in a burst from a caster : P Also I found that they understimate how tanky you are when you have that much HP.

Skill Sequence

Max your JITB first, get a point in deceive so you can escape, and max 2 shiv second so that you can get some more burst damage, and lead your little boxes to the target you want to kill.

Summoner Spells

Ignite; a great spell for casters and flash;a great spell for casters, also great for getting those deceive, flash, in between turret kills.

Runes

Typical runes for maximum maneuverability, magic pen, and survivability.

Creeping / Jungling

Since you level boxes first, you can easily counter jungle or attempt to steal the enemies red or blue at level one with some stacking and nice positioning ; D

Team Work

Have your teammates know where your boxes are, since the buff to his boxes and the fact that you're AP shaco, 1-2 boxes in a spot can easily help your teammate out and land you an assist or kill. Always let your teammates know where your boxes are, so they can avoid being ganked in situations they have no business at all escaping from. In this way, shaco has a global revive spell on a 12 (9.6 with max cdr) second cooldown. Those boxes will seriously save your friends hides more times than you'll be able to count.

In team fights, your job is to lay a box in the action, on escape routes, or in places that your team can easily fall back to. A losing battle may turn in an instant if you get a good fear off on an enemy.

Tips

Shacos boxes can be placed through walls, use this to your advantage! I wouldn't recommend this if you're not winning badly already, but making a JITB trap over the wall between their inhibitor turrets and then baiting enemies into them is great fun.

REMEMBER deceive has a 0.1 second delay when its casted, and you may deceive and then die AFTER the animation is complete, so don't think you can escape with less than 1% hp.

If you're facing a karthus, your game will be severly gimped, but not all is lost. You can even karthus' ult using your ultimate, just use it right before the SWOOSH sound from his ulti starts, and you'll evade it.

Turrets now target enemies who you've damaged, use this to your advantage!
