This is a very good point! as a tank, you want people to focus you. They will not do this if you have that fancy GA effect floating around you..

I mean if you were a DPS and you saw someone with 3500 health and a GA effect, would you attack them?
The correct answer is no.

Please stop getting Banshee's/ Guardian's on tanks, the bubble/swirl makes people even less likely to focus you. Squishies should get them, not tanks.
Instead, get a mallet and a wit's end. Why a wit's end? Because it drains mana, that's why. Make them regret they didn't get that tear of the goddess.

lol, not to whine or anything, but i play shen almost the exact same way.

i play him like this:
Dorans shield
boots of speed
1. item: aegis of legion
2. item: mercury treads
wardens mail (to randuims omen)
3. item: randuims omen
4. 5. item: sunfire cape or force of nature (sometimes i also choose thornmail, but only i speciafic situasions)
6. item: and then guardian angel.

one time in my life i played AP shen (with clarity and clarivoyance xD - i was away when the game connected, and only came in time when we was IN the game. also i had AP rune page on, so i thought, **** that and played), and it excatly turned good, with a 8/2 score (KS, KS, KS). but anyways, my point is that when i played shen there, with that score, i could see that its MUCH better to play shen tank. so i disagree in rylais crystal scepter.
btw, i also disagree in picking mana items (frozen heart and banshees vail) to a energy hero. always pick items where all the effects is usefull.

but i always take teleport and GHOST. i defiently think that ghost is the ONLY summoner spell shen excatly is comfortaple with. teleport is imo the second best choise, but fortify is also a nice pick.

+1

EDIT: just a quick thing i wanna point out: i set my skill order, by maxing out q, and then w, and only one time in e. like this:
level 1: Q
2: E
3: Q
4: W
5: Q
6: R
7: W
8: Q
9: Q
10: W
11: R
12: W
13: W
14: E
15: E
16: R
17: E
18: E

The point of getting Banshee is the Life + mr and passive to avoid the incoming burst - if u really go on abyss first item .. have fun with 1500 life against some nice bursts ... instant death - nothing more to say.

Also thornmail over frozen heart is really stupid ... the as slow >>>>>> return dmg and as a first item u cant buy thornmail (or shouldnt) because ur food because no life = no dmg return (or ... not long).

I really think that u didnt even read the guid .... only watched on the item build and cry ... I explained why Frozen heart is good on him ... first for sure the as slow - 2nd the hard defense and 3rd !!!!the cdr!!!!! i really **** on the point that it gives 500 mana which u cant spend ... because the rest of this item is just awesome for the price

1-I read the guide, really. my post wanst a "cry" -.-
What is the difference between tornmail and forstheart? you said that tornmail didnt give you Health..well, Frostheart neither. And i think that if you want ASreduction, you already have Randuins Omen. also give u CDR and HP. I didnt say that Frostheart is uselles, but there is some better items for Shen to get Armor: Tornmail, Sunfire.
About Banshee (i repeat): I didnt say complety useless. Of course its a nice item, but Im still thinking..shen have better choices.

I think items like Frostheart or Banshee are a little useless on shen, since they give us (but, actually they dont..) Mana. if the enemy have heavy AD then go Tornmail instead of Frostheart. And if you want MagRes., i think its a lot better to get Abyssal Scepter instead of Banshee. You get MagRes. and also an Aura to help your AP teammates... And: if you like "Banshee" coz its passive, then you should also get "Quicksilver sash", or use Cleanse...
On "junngle shen", it would be nice if u add Fortify, because it gives Shen a bonus damage to minions, great for jungling.
At least: Flash is a good option to get some kills/assists, but i think that Shen have better Summoner Spells to use. If you want kills use Ghost/flash combo.

This is a great guide. It will really help clear up playing against different teams as Shen. +1 for sure. But, as Playeer2 said, Spell check is needed...
