The best way for Singed in a 5v5 game is to team up with someone who can heal or regenerate your mana. Supporter like Soraka and Sona who use Mana Manipulator are always good for Singed.
Singed is in my opinion one of the best tanks in League of Legends. This build shows you how to be a good tank.
First of all get some gold so you get your Rod of Ages quick.
This item is your core item!
Because of Rod of Ages it doesn't matter if you skill him on AP or life because Rod of Ages grants him +380 Health +425 Mana +50 Ability-Power and 18 Health, 20 Mana, and 2 Ability Power every 1 minute. His passive Empowered Bulwark increases Singed's health by 0.25 for each mana point he has so with a little bit of simple mathematics you can see how awesome the passive of RoA is.
At this point (after you bought your RoA) get boots! Singed without boots is like Annie without Tibbers (of course I exagerate but boots are very necessary).
Now go on with your tank items.
First Sunfire Cape. The extra 40 magical damage will help you farming gold for your other items. Next is Force of Nature. It grants you a movement boost of 8 and a health regeneration boost of 0.35% every second depending on your maximum health.
Next get Guardian Angel. That means more Magic Resistance and more Armor. Even if they get you one time you will not die.
Your last item can be either Frozen Heart (Reduces ability cooldowns by 25% and attack speed of nearby enemies by 20%) or Abyssal Scepter (increases Ability Power by 70, increases Magic Resistance by 57, reduces Magic Resistances of nearby enemy champions by 20) depending on if your enemys are either more AP or AD based.
Skill your Fling first. Some damage and you may fling some careless enemies into your turrets. Next your Mega Adhesive to slow opponents who try to escape or chase after you.
Max Poison Trail first. After this you should max Fling.
Do not take a lane yourself. Farm minions fling enemies and get gold/lvls. I guess it is similiar to every other build.
Help your allies to chase after an enemy or help them escape with your Mega Adhesive and Poison Trail.
Tank turrets (yes you are able to tank them without any problems) assist your mates and help whereever you are needed to be.
Singed is a Tank/Support character so do not miss to support your mates. Kills are not necessary for you but do not miss to get some.
If you think there is a need to change something in this build let me know.
