The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
I love Sion AP, and this guide shows how i play him in Ranked. My KDA With him is 9,7 at the time, and i have never lost a mid lane.
Use my guide if you want, and i would like some feed back :)
There is not much to say about runes, i use these runes for most casters i play.
You can use flat AP Glyphs, but i like the CDR because it helps through the entire game, where AP Glyphs only matters in the first few levels.
With the new masteries, is it possible to make a AP offense build, but i think that the utility masteries help the best.
The magic penetration in Offense are of course important, but the rest 21 points need to go into the Utility tree, here is why:
The mana regen, is very important in early game with Sion be course he burns mana crazy fast.
The XP is one of the most important things for success with Sion AP, when you are some LVL's in front of the other team, they can't do any thing to you and your base damage from the shield hurts really bad!
The movement speed makes it possible for you to avoid many spells in mid lane, and you can easy run up to your enemy to pop the shield.
The cooldown reduction are also really important, when you only have 2 spells.
The items speaks for them self, you need to have a lot of AP!
The boots of mobility are real important in this build, and i do buy them first. This makes it very easy to gank, and get the need kills to stack your mejai's.
The reason why i do not buy magic penetration boots, is that you relay need the movement speed, and that if they get magic resist, you will need more than 20 magic penetration, and then you have to buy a void staff.
The rood of ages gives you the survive-ability you need in team fights
The Eleisa's Miracle, gives you good mana and health regen, and gives you some well needed Tenacity, when you are getting focused.
The Lich Bane are in the end of the build, i have seen many Sion AP who have fail then you buy it early in game, and it is because you do not have the amount of AP you need to use it before you get in end game. It can be a good thing to lvl the Enrage, and then get a Sheen, but this build gets you more in danger in the middle of team fights.
The rest of the AP items are clear, you need a lot of AP!
The Death's Caress are most important spell, this need to be lvl'ed every time it can.
The Cryptic Gaze comes after, because this scales with AP as well as the Death's Caress.
Enrage are the third spell to lvl, but you will need it at lvl 4, for some last hitting at early damage after stun.
Cannibalism are a good spell for a AD Sion, but with AP i do not use it. It can save your life some times in team fights, but it do not give the health you need to survive massive burst damage. It can be good to get the Blue buff with, and that's why i but one point in it at lvl 12.
Flash and Ignite, and that's just how i do.
Clarity can be a good thing, but i like the ignite especially in lane.
This might be important, and it is easy with the Death's Caress.
Run into the minions and pop the shield, last hit if it is needed.
The wraiths are
