Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
I run this build, and destroy with it on a regular basis. Here is how it works.
Armor Pen: Tasty tasty tasty DMG. I find that AmrPn > Crit Dmg easily. Not only does it make your crits hit for more, but it makes ALL auto attacks hit for more. Really Nice
Attk Speed: You want to be able to hit at 1 hit per second really. This + Phantom Will give that to you.
Vampiric Scepter - This should be first on any DMG based Sion as maxing out enrage early is key to extra Dmg. The life steal from this will stop the Skill from doing any dmg to you, but 65 extra dmg to your food.
Boots of Mobility - A lot of people whine at me about how I should switch to Boots of Swiftness. F that! I call these my go fast boots. They let you get to where you need to be when you need to be there so you can stun. Get away from Ganks faster, get to Ganks faster...everything a Hungry Sion needs.
Executioners Calling: Crit Chance, Plus Life Steal. Nuff Said.
Phantom Dancer: Crit Chance, Attk Speed, Movement speed. Everything Sion need to kick it into high gear. Once you have this, you'll Crit almost every other hit, sometimes three in a row, some times not for like four swings. At almost 400 dmg a crit this hurts a lot early came.
Infinity Edge: Dmg, Crit Chance, 250% Crit DMG. Once you have this, you'll get a few kills in before people realize that your Axe/Hammer is doing a whooping 650-800 a thwack depending on their armor.
Last Whisper: 40 dmg, 40% armor pen is a great great thing. You'll start to crit for just under 1000 with this on squishy types and about 850 - 900 on your Fighters/Tanks
Bloodthirster: Dmg + Lifesteal = Good things for Sion. This will kick you into crits for over 1000 on just about any champ in the game without tons of armor on. When you swing for that much you start to gain almost 300 health per swing just from the Calling and the Thirster.
Infinity Edge: As soon as you have the money to do it outright, sell the Executioners and But another InfinEdge. You'll crit for 1300 on minions and squishes alike. I've been known to 2 hit some Rhyse Builds with this.
Quick Tips on how to play this Build:
BE AGGRESSIVE. Seriously, you can kill anyone 1V1 with this build. Stun to intro, whack away. If they stick around auto attk till your life gets to about half. Exhaust, whack away, when they run...and they will...Ignite. MmmmMMMm, tasty.
Stun at the appropriate time. If you open up with your stun a lot of champions can use that to their advantage. Kat, Nunu, Tryn, Yi, Remmus, and many other champs have abilities that your stun can either disable completely, interrupt, or seriously hinder. Use that to your advantage.
Pop your ult when it counts!: Gonna 1V3? And you CAN. Pop your ult first thing and kick some ***. Coming in to gank? Wait to see if you even need it, if not, pop it after the battle to heal your buddies so they can stay in lane with you. Trying to bait? Let them think your cooldown is still running. Take dmg till your at a 3rd of your health and then pop your ult, stun, and crit on them twice. Boom, full health.
DON'T FORGET YOUR SHIELD!: Even as AD/Crit this shield is awesome. See a spear coming at you? Pop it - Boom no dmg. See an Kog/karthaus/Vigar beam coming down on you? Pop it. Gonna tower dive? Pop it.
And most importantly. LAST HIT MINIONS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. once you start to crit for 700, you will one hit most of the little minions, but until then. Pay attention. You can pick up almost 130 gold for every line of minions that come at you.
