I personally haven't tried leveling crystal slash first, simply because skarner's early game is pretty weak, and I thought I needed the fracture damage/heal for harass and sustainability. I'll try it, though. I usually rush sheen first, then go for boots and an early triforce. Philo stone is always a good laning item, however. Also, in your summoner skills, I would make a few changes. It makes me sick when I see a skarner without ghost XD I'm sure that you know how well ghost synergizes with skarner's ultimate, but it isn't mentioned in your guide. It is incredibly useful to pop on ghost and your shield, and then impale an enemy, and then drag them halfway across the map (the movespeed helps you drag them farther in the 1.5 seconds). Besides this, I the item section seems pretty solid, though I wouldn't buy rylai's, and I would probaly get at least hextech revolver a bit sooner. The seals though, i kinda want the extra mana in the beginning but its not important enough to have me getting full seals, because when you get philo most of your mana problems are solved. You simply dont need more mana seals but its extremely good having it(half is enough) the first couple of levels.
