Mastering the Master
Master Yi is considered one of the easy champs to use during the game but only the experienced can bring out the full potential of the build I am supplying. My reason for this comment is the underrated "Sword of Occult", a Damage item that increases both AD and Movement Speed once you achieve 20 stacks (10 player kills or 20 assists). Its overall power then supplies more then an Infinity Edge and can be the replacement for common boots, in otherwords opening another slot for an AS (Attack Speed) item. For the additional slot I recommend another Phantom Dancer to max out critical strike chance and to increase hit times. Yi is a top lane champ in my opinion and does well in the game if he sets back the other teams tanks. So early kills are key to Master Yi's Gameplayl, as it is with many champions.
Clearly focusing on the Critical Damage as with other champions like Tryn, Yi can easily hit around 1k damage per hit and 2-2.5k damage per second at lvl 18 with all items shown. Glyph of Warding can be swapped out for Glyph of the Furor(s) and increase the Crit Damage in the end game. This isnt advised as defence against AP users is a big plus.
The main focus is Wuju Style as it supplies passive +damage for the entire game and an active the practically doubles the damage of Yi's attacks. Yi's "W" ability is the last skill to level cause you can make up for the hp with Health Pots or Life Steal throughout the game. Yi's Passive double strike is also a big help when it comes to attacking enemies. Make sure to stack up 7 hits on the minions then go in an 1 hit the player for a double damage. this should intimidate and cause them to turret hang if done correctly with the support of your fellow laner.
As explained in the Intro, The effectiveness of the SotO (Sword of the Occult) is depending on how experienced of a player you are and how well you do during the game. If you have Issues with High Deaths that item is not for you since every time you die you lose 1/3 of your stacks. Replace that item with Zeke's Herald which has a cooldown reduc. and hp+. The only other unique item shown would be the Ionic Spark. I find that if you wish to be able to 3v1 or even 4v1 by end game you need to have this item. Every 4th hit triggers a spark that hits the nearby enemies for 110 magic damage and also gives additional AS. If you don't like this item, you can replace with a PD (phantom dancer). All the other items are self explainatory and common items to grab.
