Not Updated For Current Season
So this is my first guide ever so it'll most likely will get voted down and trash talked frequently, but here goes.
This build is for a rather aggressive Sona, weird right? Ya well not so much, see, Sona is a beast when played properly and unless shes focused down by more than 1 enemy, she can pretty much strum her way thru most fights. My gaming expierence doesnt really come from LoL but other games where pvp stats are heavily used (19 twink BG's in WoW anyone?) To be honest, Im pretty new to LoL but since Ive played Sona shes just a beast and I felt the need to share my build.
Please keep in mind that I play Sona very aggressively, and in the last 20 games Ive lost perhaps 3 total, may of my matches look similar to 9/0/13 occasionally a low number of deaths in there.
Marks: Magic Pen - to make that Hymn of Valor hurt that much more (Take that Jax)
Seals: MP5/lvl - More mana = longer uptime
Glyphs: CD Reduction - Faster your spamming spells the more effective you are
Ya I dont get boots till mid(ish) game, but thats purely situational for me I think, if my team is starting our good Ill get Tear and Mana Manipulator before Mob boots.
Rush Tear and Locket as fast as possible, but get Tear first so you can start utilizing that passive and have it maxed by the time you up to Archangels. Locket + Tear = almost limitless mana, I mean it is HARD to run OOM with those 2 items, Ive easily stayed in lane for 20 min constantly casting and not run OOM and even if ya do, BAM Clarity GG. Most games dont last long enough after getting boots tear and locket...Sona just lets your team farm kills at that point.
The rest of the items are pretty much self explanatory and are able to be switched around as needed. The last 4 items I find very useful in situational games for obvious reasons. Heavy melee? Thronmail and Mob boots..kite that Master Yi and laugh at Warwick as they beat their face against your sitar. Heavy casters? FoN and Merc Treds, Banshee's just to make sure they cant touch you.
