Most people will look at this and think why?
Firstly mejai's soulstealer is great on soraka, it stacks on assists and assists count from heals. During the laning phase there are a few kills, using your ultimate can give assist on any kills on the entire map!
Rabadon's I don't think that needs explaining.
CD boots might seem silly but that 15% is 15% extra healing and mana, 15% more silence time. If you are having problems with me cc'ed out of the fight and focused by magic users buy mercury tread instead.
Morello's Evil Tome again for the 20% CD reduction, such an advantage. It has quite a lot of AP and a small bit of mana regen, but the mana regen is pretty pointless on soraka.
Soul Shroud is handy, the amount of HP is useful because Soraka has a low HP pool and therefore is just far to easy to nuke and kill by one person. Besides everything the new HP pool looks rather high and is quite a put off. Its main use is its passive, 10% reduced CD's to everyone around you!
Guardian Angel is great, not only does it mean that she has even more resist that makes her even less squishy after that Rod of Ages. Mostly in a team fight people cant afford to sit and wait for the re-spawn of it or else they will be nuked and killed, so its an easy escape for Soraka. Once you re-spawn the CD on your heal with have finished so you heal yourself straight to full or another member of your team.
Most people have a very big problem with what i have done, i have left an ability out! Oh noooo!
Soraka's laning capabilites come souly from harassing using her E and healing with her W. Her E has great range and very good damage and most importantly it is FREE and has a silence! This ability being FREE (emphasizing that point!) makes it possibly the best laning ability in the game, it completely mucks up mages especially. It has slightly longer range than most mages spell and so whenever a mage get all big in-lane to harass you (or your laning partner) stick and E on them and they die a little inside and can't cast anything. Also at max level when you have that really strong and powerful mage killing your entire team, boom silence 3 seconds, what can he really do?
Her Q really isn't all that useful until a lot later, it isn't really a higher damage ability, people argue that it is good because of its on hit effect and its CD, I resent this purely on basis it has a bloody tiny range and if your close enough to cast on anything other than creeps you are far too far forward in a fight.
Masteries and Runes
Her masteries are quite clear and obvious, as much CD reduction as possible and 15% magic pen just for that laning phase where you poon the enemies with your E.
AP on quint's and blue gives you 25 AP straight at the start again just a great boost to your laning heals and damage. Armor and magic resist on others because it gives that little bit extra resist that makes the difference between dieing and surviving. A few people like to put AP in these slots, but since the AP runes for yellow and red is so low it isn't worth it.
