Garen Build Guide by Palthios

i like it. Does feel a bit weaker beginning but your spin works well all game now. I haven't really changed anything. Swapping Boots of Swiftness for something else feels too slow. Palthios can you give us a quick update on your thoughts of items. Im testing out Last Whisper, Bloodthirster etc intead of Atmas/ Zekes but its hard as most games end by then. Also in the forums everyone is talking about buy Maw of Mortimus for Garen why would that be?

Kinda like this new build, rune set, masteries with Garen. I know I'll do much better with him once the patch comes to our server. Time to go all out and become a killing machine again. 0 deaths? no problem. 20 + kills? again no problem. :D

IK that it is very good for auto-attacks and to get that extra magic resistance which works oh so nicely with courage, but would't Maw of Malmortius be better? I find myself more often than not, spinning than auto-attacking, because of the aoe damage. And Maw would give lots more attack damage, and more magic resistance.

like i said i haven't changed a thing and am still getting 20-30 kills a game. Keen to practice different gear just so hard as the games end after phantom dancer.

I think why he used Wit's End instead of Maw of Malmortius is that the difference between the price, magic resistance from Wit's End gains additional 5 MR per hit up to 4 stacks, gives attack speed and gives magic damage. I'm not going to argue about the damage it can give Garen but it still depends on the player whether he/she understands or not and there are other players who also says this item is also good on Garen so that's it. lol

Either way this build is good. Still, now that Garen's Decisive Strike can now critically strike, I'll just try to use your old build to critically strike my enemies. lol I'll troll and try Garenplank after the patch comes out on our server. lol

Well, this was pretty quick. As said before numerous times, Maw of Malmortius should probably be at least an option if you want to rely more on Judgment in the late game. Another thing about the build is that I haven't seen a mention of Guardian Angel. It alone with the runes you have gives you the armor and magic resistance close to the ones old Courage used to give. As for the rest of the guide, well, no complaints there. You only need to update the scores to match the new build, but that will take time.
