Yew. Deadly matchup. You'll face a lot of these if you go top/mid as I do. Go tp, cloth armor, 4 pots. You'll be able to outstain him if you play well with rake and q to finish creeps. Never go on him as he'll win the trade and kill you with his passive. You can kill him if he makes the mistake to get hit by tower or by a canon minion. Otherwise push ur lane with rake and roam after 6. Don't play Talon into this. Change champion
Introducing me
My name is Jaws Lightweight, i'm a Talon main since season 6. I am currently platinum 1 and this build my good sirs, will help you grind and understand the thrue/best power of Talon. You will become savage. I will explain every single little thing to make you better at winning games. I have played since season 2 and I do have a lot of knowledge about this game. Now let's get started.
So this build will use the power of Lethality and cunning tree to be the most effective. I'm going to recommend what is the best thing to do even if it means to not play Talon. I'll try to update the build every patch or so. So it'll stay fresh and ready. As it is right now, Talon is insanely op. Platinum + players have a winrate of 54+% on him. You want to play/ban Talon.
Pros
+ High Kill potential Pre-6 + High snowball potential on a top laner + High roaming potential with Mobility Boots + Assassin's Path + Synergize with Lethality very well + Fast assassination + Hard to kill with Shadow Assault and Assassin's Path |
Cons
- Easily countered. - Vulnerable to CC lock - Bad teamfight against Pro-peel teams. - Doesn't fit well to build a balanced team. - Vulnerable to ganks pre-6 and post-6 without ult. |
SO, in this very meta, you definetly want to go in the cunning tree as talon. Why? Because Riot Games made Lethality op. The Cunning tree gives you Precision wich grants base Lethality combined with lethality per/level. Next, I prefer to go Wanderer instand of Savagery as it gives you the power to roam easily through map and you already have high base AD to last hit properly. I then choose Assassin , Merciless , Sorcery, Natural Talent and Double Edged Sword to maximise the damage I do. I also get Dangerous Game to win those numberous clutch fights. I get Stormraider's Surge because I feel like the movement speed, especially in top lane, is just better than the burst that Thunderlord's Decree would give. With Stormraider's Surge you can : Escape when trading against slowing oppponents such as Nasus and more, reposition after bursting a carry with your ult in late game, escape a gank, chase an opponent etc. I feel like it's just better overal. The proof is that it has a better winrate in Plat+ if we look at Lolalytics: http://lolalytics.com/champion/Talon/Top/ |

Blade's end (Passive): I could honestly debates on this being one of the best passives in the game. This is an additional spell in itself, I could compare this to a Swain Torment except it is AD and scales with a 2.0 bonus physical attack damage. For those of you who don't know, this is an amazing scaling. This is also what makes Talon really good at lvl 2. Considering most people have only 2 spells at this level, talon can out-trade and make cool firstbloods. The way you proc this passive is simple: land 3 blades (spells) on an opponent and land an autoattack. You should keep an idea of how many stacks are on champions to know when you can burst them with the passive. |
|
noxian diplomacy (Q): This is a spell in itself and not an empower autoattack like before. You can use this to either gap-close when they are too far away or make it crit when in autoattack range. This will add 1 stack of Blade's End on your foe. If you can and need to, flash to be in range of the crit. This will also grant hp if you last-hit minions with it. Don't hesitate to spam it as it uses little mana. You can also dodge skillshots or gapclose a bit with the full extended spell. |
|
Rake (W): This is a bit like the old one. There are still big différences. First of all, your Rake does less damage. Don't expect this to single-handely poke an opponent like before. Also, on his way up, the rake will do less damage, not slow and stop at the end. It will still add 1 stack to your Blade's End. On the way back, the Rake will slow, add another stack to Blade's End and do a little more damage. In lane, you want to land Rake twice to be able to proc Blade's End. You want to walk a little further so the opponent can't dodge the way back by walking out to his turret. |
|
Assassin's path (E): PAAAAARKOURRRRRRR. This spell is what makes Talon a swaglord. Use this to roam fast as hell and surprise opponents. You can use this spell to go forward to go back to your lane. There are so many ways to use this spell. Just don't hesitate to use it. Just don't forget you can't jump back so always plan a wall to escape once you engage. In the top-lane I don't use the walls unless until I get ganked. I always bait people when they are too low by faking a roam. Just leave top-lane and come back by using a wall. Try to land in their face and get a free-kill. This will surprise turret hugers and work most of the time. |
|
Shadow assault (R): That is a cool ultimate. The blade's land one stack when you drop them and they hit and one spell on the way back to you. Note that you can make the blades follow an opponent if you autoattack him before going ulting and right before finishing your ult. Any spell in this will reveal you so be careful spaming. Note that Assassin's Path will not reveal you. Most of the time I use the invisibility to escape when I land on someone. I rarely use it as an engage. As you will get focused and kill after landing. Also, you need it to reposition and decide: either you finish someone or escape. |
LVL 1: Basically use your Rake as often as possible to both last hit a CS and poke your opponent. If the player you play against isn't smart and goes near you to reach a cs, don't hesitate to plug-in an autoattack. Just be careful against champions with a strong LVL 1 such as Olaf and Tryndamere who can all-in you at this stage of the game.
In most cases LVL 1 has is a matter of whoever survives with the Highest amount of hp.
Watch your experience and right before turning LVL 2, put yourself in a good position be able to land Noxian Diplomacy and do a double Rake. You can surprise most unaware laners and get first blood easily.
LVL 2 : Abuse your Blade's End. This is your best stage. Only a few champions can beat you at this level such as Pantheon. Try to poke the enemy and get a double stack your Rake. If you ever manage to get it, Noxian Diplomacy on him and follow with an autoattack to proc Blade's End. Only this should win you the laning phase and most likely guarantee you a kill with ignite. Sometimes you can also start and bait a fight by going in with Noxian Diplomacy first. Thay way you can position better for landing a double Rake and get a kill with Blade's End.
LVL 3 : At this point you should keep being agressive in your lane by landing key Rakes. You want to put a second point in your Rake if you feel safe enough. If you don't know where the enemy jungler or mid laner is and you are to pushed off / don't have Flash, put a point into Assassin's Path
