This build is a mixture of HeAt's "Akali - You were trying to kill who?!" build and CrusherS's "Your Choice" build, plus some variation. Without them this build would not be here, and I'm simply the merger of the two builds.

Let's start with the summoner spells.

I always think Teleport is a good spell to take, just for the face that at a 5min (Less with runes and masteries) cooldown, you can stay in your lane for 5mins, Recall back, then teleport straight back in. If you have your shop open as your recalling, you can do the whole thing with minimal experience loss.

Exhaust is a generally good spell for melee characters becasue it lets you do so much more damage in the space you have.

Good Spells:
Ghost
Flash (Both for chasing and running)

Bad Spells:
Heal - Health Pot and Normal Heal Rate should deal with this, use brush effectivly and you'll rape.
Fortify - Leave it for the supports
Ignite - If you need some quick damage, Mark of the Assasin (MotA) will finish them off at sub-six, and Shadow Dance will finish them off if your above 6.

Masteries are standard for a caster, avoiding mana regen for the simple reason of you don't use mana.

Same with runes, it's a good all round set.

Before I start the real stuff, can I say that I went 39-1-1 in the 2nd game I played as this build.

So your core item build is:
Boots of Swiftness (for running + chasing) or Mercury's (for snarers)
Mejai's
Sword of the Occult
Rageblade
Rylai's
Gunblade.

To put it simply, AP + AD all round, and health in Rylai's

So:
Early Game

Buy one health potion, and a long sword.
Teleport to the turret and get into the bush, remember it's a 5 min cooldown, 2mins of that is waiting for the little guys and 3mins will be a cakewalk with the health pot.
Harras with MotA, and farm with Crescent Slash to get last hits, which means you will be able to get the AP tome well before level 6, and possible one of the two stacking items.

Try for a gank at level 6, and if that fails, don't try again. There's no point in giving them free hits/kills for nothing.

Maybe go to mid to shut down the guy there, but only do so with ALOT of planning from your teammate - remember you only really have the length of the river to gank.

You should now either have some stacks, or some decent money, or both, so start going for the next stacking item.

Mid Game
This is where Akali shines.
Go for ganks on single people, and only when you're sure they're alone. Your damage output should be so high at this point people will just run. At this point, Shadow Dance their *** then MotA -> Crecent Slash -> Trigger MotA - that should finish them off.

When people gank you, Shroud near a bush, and make it look like your running in a different direction to the bush. Let the five people you've just tricked walk past, then run either behind them, or out of their sight. Don't stay where you are, because if they're low on health, they'll probably accidently find you when they want to recall.

Pick up Golem whenever you can for the cooldown reduction, and if you find that they're getting away easily, go for lizard.

End Game
Focus on taking one target down in teamfights, and make sure you're at the front when it looks like they're going to flee. Then you pop Shadow Dance -> Shroud - so they have to run through the shroud -> MotA -> Crescent Slash -> Trigger MotA. Repeat if needed. Never have I made it past the Hextech Revolver when on the way to the Gunblade, but if the games going on for that long, then just focus on getting stacks for Mejai's and Occult.
