Introduction
Silent Sona ~ Aggresive Zoning Support
Pros / Cons
Pros
+ Fun to play + Really good escapes + Awesome ultimate + Good for securing kills + Lucent Singularity grants vision + Can do quite alot of damage despite being support |
Cons
- Sometimes hard to aim ult - Very skillshot based - Needs full combo to deal alot of damage - Vulnerable to gapclosers and bursters |
Illumination (Passive): Illumination is your extra combo damage. Whenever you hit an enemy with one of your damaging spells it will illuminate them. Basic attacks from Lux will ignite the debuff and deal magic damage. This passive is extremely needed for her comboes as they need extra damage.
Light Binding (Q): Light Binding is your combo starter, chasing skill, and escape skill. Use this if the enemy adc or support (or both) are caught out of position, proceed to auto attack and proc Illumination. When running use this to snare your chasers. When chasing use it to snare prey.
Prismatic Barrier (W): Prismatic Barrier is your basic support skill. Lux throws out a wand that shields allies hit by it,and then it comes back like a boomerang doing the same. This is a pretty strong ability if you can aim it right.
Lucent Singularity (E): Lucent Singularity is your main harass/poke skill. Throwing it out at the enemy adc/support/both and then activating it immidiately can be pretty annoying for them. It also slows all enemies around it,making it yet another one of Lux's get away skills.
Final Spark (R): Final Spark is your ultimate and combo finisher. SO MANY COMBOES! :D Kill secure, kill steal, poke, overkill,so many possibilities! This is an amazing ultimate,it's not global but you can still support from a distance.
Tips and Tricks
- Use this passive to poke your enemies,if they get hit by Light Binding, auto attack them.
- If they're foolish enough to get in range after Lucent Singularity, hit them.
- Auto attack in between spells for maximal damage output.
Light Binding (Q): Light Binding is your combo starter, chasing skill, and escape skill. Use this if the enemy adc or support (or both) are caught out of position, proceed to auto attack and proc Illumination. When running use this to snare your chasers. When chasing use it to snare prey.
Tips and Tricks
- Use this and then Final Spark so they have no way of dodging.
- Throw this in a bot lane bush if you're sure you can hit them.
- Punish aggresive play with this.
Prismatic Barrier (W): Prismatic Barrier is your basic support skill. Lux throws out a wand that shields allies hit by it,and then it comes back like a boomerang doing the same. This is a pretty strong ability if you can aim it right.
Tips and Tricks
- You can shield your entire team twice if you aim this ability properly.
- This ability shields Lux instantly once she casts it.
- When running cast the spell where you're running, you'll get the shield faster.
Lucent Singularity (E): Lucent Singularity is your main harass/poke skill. Throwing it out at the enemy adc/support/both and then activating it immidiately can be pretty annoying for them. It also slows all enemies around it,making it yet another one of Lux's get away skills.
Tips and Tricks
- This spell grants vision where it is,use this to check bushes.
- You can leave this spell on rather then activating it,this can be useful for zoning.
- Throw this in the middle of a teamfight then use Final Spark.
Final Spark (R): Final Spark is your ultimate and combo finisher. SO MANY COMBOES! :D Kill secure, kill steal, poke, overkill,so many possibilities! This is an amazing ultimate,it's not global but you can still support from a distance.
Tips and Tricks
- This spell grants vision in it's path, you can use it to scout if you need to.
- You can use this spell to steal buffs, even Baron Nashor if you predict well!
- E + Auto Attack + Q + R is your main combo for damage,it's vital to use your ult when they're binded or else you may miss.
- Once you hit level 6 with your adc: Land your snare (Q) > Use E to slow > Use W to shield adc if needed, otherwise skip W > R to burst or kill secure.
Synergies
Synergy levels: 1 - 10
-
Twitch Synergy - 10: Twitch is a really good pair for Lux. If you land a Light Binding he can stack Deadly Venom on them and then expunge. Both of you have really long range abilities allowing for deadly harass and poke. Use Lucent Singularity to zone or poke the enemy. Although you're both very squishy, Twitch can use Ambush while you Prismatic Barrier > Light Binding > Lucent Singularity to just be like: NO YOU CANNOT KILL US >:C.
-
Ashe Synergy - 8.5: Ashe is a pretty good pair with Lux. You both have heavy cc,allowing your jungle easy ganks. And you can both stop both ganks and aggressive players in their tracks. Enchanted Crystal Arrow & Final Spark can make for an easy kill secure or kill in general in the laning phase. And you both have scouting skills for basically free short wards in terms of Hawkshot and Lucent Singularity.
- Ezreal Synergy - 9: Ezreal is a extremely strong match with Lux. If you land Light Binding he can land like all of his abilities on them for good burst. And like Ashe you both have kill secure skills in the forms of Final Spark and Trueshot Barrage. So yeah, snare > W to shield Ez while he uses his skills > Ezreal uses his skills > E to slow > Both use R if you have to too.
Counters
Difficulty levels: 1 - 10
-
Difficulty - 9: Leona is a ***** in general to fight, but since Lux is weak to gap closers/bursters she matches up even worse against her. sight wards are your best friends, ward the bushes and she can't stun you 3 times. Use Light Binding if you can. Lucent Singularity the bushes and harass this no-sustain tank.
For now this will have to do,I will update this section once I test some more champions to use with Lux. Don't hurt me ;___;!
Masteries
Alternatives
Runes
Runes
- Greater Quintessence of Gold: I take these quintessences to stack with
Greed
. As a support you let your adc farm,so these will let you passively make money without having to steal cs from your adc.
- Greater Mark of Magic Penetration: I use these marks purely for deadlier poke, these also help against tankier supports like Leona.
- Greater Glyph of Magic Resist: These can be quite useful early game,if you're playing a normal game then you won't know you're fighting unless it's draft,so these are more definite.
- Greater Seal of Armor: Use these seals, you're most likely going to be fighting an attack damage carry on bot lane. These seals help negate a bit of damage from them.
Alternatives
- Greater Quintessence of Health: You may swap 1 or 2 of your Quints of Gold for these. They make you less likely to be first blood and they could very well save you sometimes.
- Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist: Take these if you want better late game scaling,or if you know who you're fighting against.
Summoner Spells
This is a basic support summoner spell, take it to reduce the enemy adc's attack speed, use it to secure a kill,or use it when running if you absolutely have to. |
Hi I'm Fluffy
|
Flash is a must have on Lux,it lets you do a instant repositioning,it can surprise your foes when you suddenly Flash and then unleash your full combo on them. It lets you flash over walls. It's overall amazing and you should take it for Lux. |
Alternatives
Heal can be very useful considering Lux has no built in sustain like other supports. It can also aid in turning a teamfight in your favor. I would say it's viable. |
Gimmie a hug nao >:C
|
Clairvoyance is an amazing support summoner spell. It can scout anywhere on the map and it's on relatively short cooldown! A good use for this would be to use it where an enemy retreated, then line up your Final Spark to be a absolute jerk! :D If they recall that makes it even easier. |

: This is your core support item,it's active is extremely useful,REMEMBER TO USE IT. If you forget to use it,your ult is cooling down, and you just next extra speed to catch that 200 hp Fiora,( Shurelya's Battlesong,) FIORA IS DEAD >:3.
: This is the new meta item for supports to replace the Heart of Gold which was removed in this season. It has a high cost now because they felt it's price was too low,but it's still viable and helps out with warding, free wards when you teleport back to base? Yes please. Also, that health bonus <3.
: Locket of the Iron Solari helps in teamfights tremendously. The active shields for 230 hp as level 18,not alot, but still good. The health bonus is decent and it's stats are meh. Use it in a teamfight after you use Prismatic Barrier. I could see a Heal + Locket of the Iron Solari active + Prismatic Barrier combo in a teamfight become helpful.
: Runic Bulwark is an amazing support item as it grants you and your nearby allies extra magic resist and armor,it's stats are pretty useful it helps alot in teamfights by effectively reducing the enemy team's potential damage output.

: Only buy this if you're new to Lux and don't know alot about her mana costs.
: Buy this if you're fighting a heavy cc team, protect your adc in a teamfight if that little girl Annie tries to stun them. Again, don't forget to use it's active, the heal and cc removal is extremely good. The bonus you get from Chalice of Harmony is also good, stay in with 100 mana and keep spamming your ult (not advised but alright.)
: Buy this if the enemy team doesn't know how to focus! :D. Lux isn't supposed to be in auto attack range in a teamfight so you should only buy this if you and your teammates can really synergize by protecting you. It's stats are decent but Lux doesn't scale too well anyway. If you aren't getting into teamfights alot and you're just fighting one champion at a time, this is a really good dueling item.
:
: Purchase this if you have a good initiator, use the active on your tank, use it on someone who is chasing/being chased,be a jerk with it to the enemy team. It's other passive is okay if it's early game, otherwise you won't notice it probably.
Early Game / Laning Phase
At the start of the game on Blue Team you should check the river bushes and make sure they're leashing and not invading (Have adc stand in ganking river bush and you stand in the tri-bush.) When you're on Purple Team you should help your jungle leash Blue Buff if he does start at Blue Buff;otherwise go to lane.
Landing a Light Binding is deadly in the early game/laning phase. Auto attack them to proc Illumination and if your adc can they should follow up with their attacks too. A common combo for Lux pre-6 is [light binding > AA ( Illumination procs) > Lucent Singularity > AA ( Illumination procs). That should do a decent chunk of damage, and if your adc follows up you might get a kill.
Use Prismatic Barrier if they try to jump you and your adc. Light Binding if they start running towards you or your adc. Lucent Singularity to check your bot lane bush and to harass. If you use Lucent Singularity smartly and frequently you might not need to even ward your bot lane bushes.

Mid Game
In Mid Game you should be vision warding Dragon and Baron. Start roaming to other lanes and start teamfights, you should have your core by now. When you hit level 11 you should be able to use Final Spark more frequently than in the laning phase,so don't be too afraid to use it unless you know there might be a teamfight breaking out.
Choose a Path
Support for life! :D
Don't play aggresive. Buy your support items before Lich Bane. Use your ult only when you need to. Try to shield and protect your team more in teamfights rather then spam skills in vain attempt to kill a target. |
I always go Support/AP Lux unless I really wanna shield my teammates. |
Support/AP Lux! :D
Play more aggresive. Get Lich Bane after Shurelya's Battlesong. Use your ult frequently. Try to shield your team, but still deal alot of damage in aid to a teamfight. |
Late Game
Paths Continued
Support Lux! :D
Use Prismatic Barrier and Locket of the Iron Solari in teamfights always. Use Final Spark to kill secure or in a teamfight. Use Light Binding as a chasing / escape skill. Be a support, ward Baron and Dragon. Use Final Spark to steal Baron/Dragon. |
Spearra's guides are op,please nerf.
|
Support/AP Lux! :D
Use Lucent Singularity in the middle of a teamfight and use Final Spark to ignite Illumination. Use Light Binding to chase/escape/initiate on someone. Use Lucent Singularity to slow any prey. Ward Baron and Dragon, that way you could steal them with Final Spark if they try to get them. |
Good-bye!
|
Lux is an extremely powerful aggressive support. She can control a paticular zone in the laning phase. Her Final Spark is pretty strong for such a low cooldown spell. And she has the ability to stay back, use her spells and support from a long distance.
She's very fun and I think she's a viable support! Sure maybe she can't sustain well, but if your adc bought potions and you just keep getting kills it doesn't really matter too much. Please upvote this guide if you found it useful! If you do downvote please take the time to explain why you did and maybe I can fix it and get an upvote from you if your satisfied. |
Good-Bye!
