I feel like some banshee's is missing here. I know it's an situational items, and depending on how the enemy team looks, you can buy different items but still, some magic res would be nice.

Btw, have you tried ap/hp tank? Roa, rylai's, some zhonya's or rabadon. Yes, you could give some of your survivability away by doing this, but your heals would be much better (and that's also a survivability).

Pretty good guide, Altho I would just like to say that I would pick Karma over Soraka for support. I also feel Karma is more tankier then Soraka in general.

Either way +1

pretty good guide.

While Soul Shroud and Shurylia's reverie provide hp, they provide no other defensive stats. Which is why most casters and melee continue to blow Soraka's out of the water despite having these items. While they are beneficial, they aren't ideal to tank with. Especially considering almost all AP users get some form of spell pen and a good number of AD get some for of Armor pen (this includes runes). So without MR and armor you would be taking over 100% of the base damage dealt by a champion.

also, i would recommend taric or sona of soraka if you plan on playing a spank (support + tank). but this guide still works

Good guide, but I have never seen an effective support without a gold/sec item. Probably want a Philo stone before mejai's. +1 anyway.

Soulshroud I'm not too much of a fan of as the seals and doran's ring provide enough mana regen/5.
Shurelya's Reverie is a good item for the AoE speed up but I'm not a fan of spending the money on a philosopers stone, it takes about 13 minutes just to earn back the 800 gold you have spent on it which after dorans ring you don't need the extra mana regen and Soraka provides enough health to not need health regen per/5 in my opinion. I just find that using that money early on to get your stack item provides a greater team benefit.

I think you should get some items like Shurelya Revelie , Soulshroud etc.

Supporters have to let the mates farm so u often get not much gold . Items like Soulshroud are cheap , help your team, so its perfect for a supporter.

Sorry for my bad english :o

Yeah I subbed in a FoN instead of GA once, but I found if their ap carry tries ti dive you that your 2 second silence is plenty for your team to protect you. I go for the armour more as the silence can pevent magic damage where as against ad dps the silence doesnt do so much :p
Thanks for the feedback, I'd say if you are having no trouble surviving then subbing in an Abyssal Scepter would work well :D

You're sure as hell a lot more tanky against physical damage dealers, but you might consider more MR, maybe an Abyssal Mask? :D
Otherwise I think this is good!
