Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Greetings fellow swain lovers,
I made this guide purely out of curiosity and for my own personal use, however I would like to share it here with its purpose to receive criticism,judgement and posts of your personal experiences.
Starting off with the runes.
Magic Penetration - for obvious reasons, gives you that extra edge whenever its needed.
Health - Extra survivability early game, very useful as I like an agressive playstyle on mid.
Cd/reduc - Speaks for itself.
Masteries are somewhat the same for every mage, yet I prefer boosting my summoner spells and gold instead of boosing my mana for that tiny bit that it is.
Items ofcourse are what makes this build so powerful, Ive seen a defensive swain build being the highest rated on this website which is a perfect build, yet I seem to lack that nice burst which I was looking for with swain.
Starting off with doran's ring doesn't need to be explained, it remains an awesome starting item due to its health and AP.
Sorcerers Shoes - are awesome in combination with your own magic pen which boosts it a bit and giving you burst early game.
Rylais Crystal Scepter - a personal favorite which I put in to get that extra survivability midgame. Why didnt I pick rod of ages? I really like the slow on rylais + the tiny bit of health in comparison with the Rod.
Rabadon's Deathcap - Big boost to your AP, and gives you the upperhand midgame.
Abyssal Scepter - Really nice to decrease your opponents magic resistance as your attacks will do significantly more damage.
Zhonya's Hourglass - Crucial for living or dying, this item really puts you on top of your opponents.
Will of the Ancients - I had alot of people asking my why I took this item late game, well its quite obvious, More AP = More spellvamp, and at this point you will really notice your health going up with your ulti active.
[*] Flash - Awesome escape ability, also great to use in combat to flash in minions with your ulti active to regain alot of health quickly.
Clarity - As I don't have any proper mana/mana regen items you might want to pick this to keep your ulti active during the teamfights, I might add that the blue buff is needed to keep yourself damaging the entire enemy team.
As you will find yourself useless without your blue buff I recommend asking your team to help you steal your opponents blue buff ocassionally. Ofcourse if the enemy team has a jungler, this is one of your priorities.
In teamfights late game make sure you stick close to your squishies in order to keep them out of the center of attention, its better if the enemy focusses you instead of the more vulnerable champions.
I would like some serious comments about this guide just to see how I can improve in writing guides and how to make progress in playing my champions ofcourse.
