Introduction

Before everyone tell me "Wait...? No Magic Resist or armor ? Are you kidding me ?!",
I would like to explain my choice.

Personnaly, when I play with a character and specialize him in one specific kind of play, I don't make it hybrid. No. When I play Kassadin full AP, he's FULL AP. When I play Cho'Gath Tank, he's a TANK.
There, it's the same thing. I play Talon DPS, nothing else.
So, if you don't like this kind of mind, and like to play hybrid, it would be a good thing if you won't downvote this Guide and just leave to read another one, thanks !

Well. If you're still there, I hope you'll enjoy this Guide !

You wanna gank everyone at every single time ?
Then Talon is made for you !

Hope it'll be helpful, this is my first Guide on MobaFire.

Pros / Cons

I think it's an important thing to make you notice what are the Pros and the Cons of Talon. It'll be helpful for you to choose if this character is made for you or not, but moreover, if you want to play it, you'll be able to understand what you have to do to use/overcome these ones.

PROS

- Great Ganker - Your Cutthroat offer you a gank every 10 seconds.
- Great Mobility - 500 movement speed, even more with your ulti.
- Easy flee - Silence, slow-down, etc. You're safe.
- High Damages in early - Level 3, with your "Z", they'll fear you.

CONS

- Squishy as hell - Hope you won't be focused in teamfights...
- Few mana on Early - Don't overuse your skills.
- High Cooldowns - Get a Blue buff at level 10 will be very helpful.

Runes

"Wait, wait, wait.. You've told us that you don't like hybrid, but your runes are actually for Armor and Magic Resist !"

I know. And yes, that justified.
The early is one of the most important thing in LoL, everybody knows it. A good early is sign of a good game, advance compared to your opponents, stuff, etc.
If you want to win your early, you'll definitly must have just a little bit Armor and Magic Resist bonus. It will reduce your early damages, and, as you know, the first 40 points of armor and Magic Resist are the most important.

Without, you reduce 15% of Physical damages and 20% of Magical damages. With, that's 20% and 30%. And trust me, that's make the difference.

Also, you need Greater Mark of DesolationGreater Quintessence of DesolationArmor Penetration precisely for make great damages to players that actually have the same thing than you : Armor. Again, very useful in early, appreciable bonus in end game.

Masteries

More damages, more attack speed, more armor penetration...
What do I can say more ?

For the Armor and Magic Resist, you remember what I said in the Runes Chapter ?

Then, to 20% and 30%, you up to 25% and 35%. Yes, that's really important to make your early a win.

Perseverence can finally offer you a little health and mana regen bonus. Not very useful, but whatever, it's better than nothing.

Summoner Spells

Flash is probably your best friend in the game. Except the turrets, yeah.
The combo Flash + Cutthroat permit you to do various thing :

- Make an extremly quickly Gank from a distant place from your ennemy.
- Carry someone who's trying to flee from you.
- To flee yourself. ( With just Flash ).
- To flee from a teamfight which as a bad turn. If your ennemies are following you, use Cutthroat against the far away from you, then Flash in the opposite direction and keep running away from them.
- To finish someone who's trying to flee with a flash.

Timing and well judgment will be your better weapons here.

I haven't many thing to say about it. It'll help you to Gank and prevent ennemies from running away from you.

Talon's Skills

Mercy

Mercy

Sympathic passive. In end game or in teamfight, with all the stuns, silences and others, you will make 10% more damages. Also, in early, the combo Rake + Mercy allows you to make as much damages as if you had Damages runes.

Noxian Diplomacy

Really an important skill to control. In early, it'll permit you to last hit minions quickly and more safely. No more "Damn it ! My turret/minion has stoled my last hit. AGAIN !".
Plus, in end game, you will make great bonus damages with it.
Did I mention the fact that it also permit to reveal an ennemy during a few seconds, which can help you to track him when he's trying to running away from you ?

Rake

First and unique skill to use at every single moment. When you up to level 3, you do so much damages with Rake that your ennemies will fear you. To farm minions, that's perfect. To slowdown ennemies, that's perfect. To make many damages to several ennemies, that's perfect.
I want to notice an important thing
The range of Rank is a little more high than what the cone show you. Don't forget it !

Cutthroat

Cutthroat

Your best weapon to gank. When you see or feel someone alone around you, be patient in the grass or being a wall corner. When the moment is come, use Cutthroat. Silenced, he won't be able to counter-attack you before 2 seconds. So he flee. But you're to fast for him. And he die.

Shadow Assault

What a great ulti. If you're just next to your ennemy, he will get so much damages at the beggining, but also at the end, and this, without a chance to counter-attack, because you're actually invisible ! It's also very useful to farm minions extremly quickly, but also for run away.
Again, I want to notice an important thing
When Shadow Assault has begun, you can't do anything but walk. If you attack an ennemy, use Flash or anything else, the skill will end, and all blades will immediatly return to you, obviously making damages.
Last thing to know. With this Bluid and a Blue Buff, the Cooldown of Shadow Assault is 20 seconds... Yes, I know.
That's awesome.

Skill Sequence

Rake is the first thing to upgrade because it will quickly make many damages. To farm minions and get stuffed, it's then the best tool.

Noxian Diplomacy will help you to last hit minions.

Cutthroat is important at its first level to permit you to gank. The next upgrades can wait.

How to Play with Talon

Early

Your stuff buyed and your skill acquiered, your now on your lane. In the better case, your on solo top lane. Else, that's not a problem, you'll just level up slower.
With your great mobility, you're able to make trips, which is the safer and better way to play.
Approch minions, last hit them, then back, again and again.
Use Rake to kill them, and make some damages to your ennemies. When you have the money to get your Berserker's Greaves, back quickly to buy them. Now, you're fast and attack fast. That will be a great thing to help you in farming.
Continue to damages your opponent, if you have an opportunity to kill him, do it. But don't be greedy. Never in early.

Then, when you'll have 2500 Golds, back to buy Zeal and The Brutalizer.
If you've been kiled before, buy a Dagger, or a Long Sword to help you without destroy your buying plan.

Level 6 ? It's time to kill people ! Try to be a little more aggressive, you can flee, Gank, have a great mobility... In brief, you're safe. Gank on other lanes too.

During early, who must have at this time of the game your Youmuu's Ghostblade. Buy a Vampiric Scepter too, it'll help you to stay longer on your lane without need to back.

Mid

You're now level 8. If everything's alright, you have a few kills and haven't been defeated yet, or just one time.
Lane is over ? Go Gank everything you see. Run around the map, farm minions, kill turrets. Help your team to prevent your teammates to feed, and destroy turrets.
It's nice to buy Phantom Dancer and the second Zeal at the same time to feel the difference in Attack Speed, Critical Damages and Mobility.
Nothing more to say. Be careful to stay alive, be patient to gank, and sometimes, be greedy to dive.
If Jungle time is finished, try to get a Blue Buff. You won't be stopped by your current mana, and your Cooldowns will be amazing.

End

Don't have many thing to tell you... Early is really the most important thing.
Never engage in a teamfight - pretty obvious - and use Shadow Assault to achieve many ennemies at the same time. When you're alone against one opponent, then you can engage with Shadow Assault.
Try to get around ennemies who are running away, and don't be fear of walking alone. If you're good, you can always flee.

How to Gank with Talon

A simple combo to know :

Cutthroat > Auto-Attack > Noxian Diplomacy > Auto-Attack > Rake > Shadow Assault > Auto-Attack.

Silenced, Slowdown, Not any Counter attack possible and amazing Damages. Wait... what ?!

It's not over ? Auto-Attack, Auto-Attack, Auto-Attack... At 2,4 Attack Speed and 600 Critical Damages with 50 Armor Penetration, he won't be there for long.

Summary

There, we're done.

The table isn't made yet for Talon, so I've made one. Values are rounded.

Don't forget that you have Passive bonus not listed there, like the Armor Penetration, the Youmuu's Ghostblade active, etc.

If you have any suggestion or a comment to say, I'll be pleased to read it and maybe modify this guide in consequence.

Thanks for reading, and have a good game !
