Jarvan IV Build
Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
As you can see, jarvan is already pretty tanky in beginning game especially with the runes I will be telling you to get. Jarvan is mostly a hero that supports his team, but with the right item build he can do alot of damage and also be really tanky.
The runes I will being tell you to get is all mostly armor and magic resistance so you want have to worry about getting more armor/magic resisistance items. For your Mark runes you would want to get all Greater Mark of Resilience which will give you 8.19 armor all together. For your Seal runes you would want to get all Greater Seal of Resilience which give you a total of 12.69 armor. For your Glyph marks, get all Greater Glyph of Warding which would give you a total of 13.41 magic resistance. Than finally for your Quintessence, get two Greater Quintessence of Resilience which gives you a total of 8.52 armor and also get one Greater Quintessence of Warding which gives you 4.5 magic resistance. So all in total you have 29.4 armor and 17.91 magic resistance in beginning game. In beginning game, Jarvan starts off with 14 armor and 30 magic resistance, So if you were to add the runes I told you to get with jarvans starting armor and magic resistance, he would be having a total of 43.4 armor and 47.91 magic resistance in beginning game. So you dont really have to get alot of tanky items, it gives you more space for other items you would like to get.
These masteries mostly consist of a tank. It gives you more armor and and magic resistance and return damage as well. Its pretty much self explanatory, its just another way of becoming more tanky.
if you are going to solo top first you should get Regrowth Pendant and health pot, because most likely you are probably going to hug the tower in the begining and be taking alot of damage, so that is where Regrowth Pendant comes in and heals your health over time. If not get your armor cloth. Than get your boots and make it to Mecury Treads than make your Wriggle's Lantern so you do damage and life steal. Than start making your Atma's and than finish up building your warmogs. With the Warmogs and Atmas combination its pretty much self-explanatory. So far you are really tanky and you hurt. Than what you would want to start buidling your Trinity Force and at the same time making your Force of Nature. Than for you final build get your ThornMail. With these items you return alot of damage and you are really tanky.
I dont think I should tell you how to use Jarvans skills, you should know what his skills do. But if you dont already know... Put ure flag (3rdth skills) down on enemy units and aim ure Dragon Strike(1st skill) near the flag to make the enemy units/heroes jump up. This combo can be used to save yourself and your teammates, and chasing enemy heroes.
Flash and Ignite is very useful... self explantory. But you dont really have to go with these summoner spells.
So pretty much, getting the runes I told you to get and the masteries is mainly for tanks. But What I was trying to do was trying to make more space for you to get less tank items and more damage items, because you are already tanky enough.
