Hello and welcome to my AP Gragas guide. When I started playing LoL i always played annie after that i started playin Akali until I was lvl 30. But i was searching for a Hero with Skillshots and huge burst. Then a friend showed me a video of a AP Gragas (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AlV4PoJQQ4) and I was just like damn that rocks. The first few matches I wasn't that good cause you realy need some practice with your skill shots especially with your ulti. After a few matches I started to love that char and got my own built which changes often but finaly I got to that built.
The Story of the Fatboy
Here is the story of the fat guy =D so hf while reading it (Gragas is fat and cool =D)
The Story of Gragas:
The foothills of the Great Barrier are home to the hardiest people found anywhere on Valoran. Only those with great fortitude and endurance dwell in what is perhaps the most rugged and unforgiving environment anywhere on the face of Runeterra. It is here that the mighty Gragas keeps permanent residence, living south of Noxus. This behemoth of a man has long eschewed the rigors of civilization for what he calls his "slice of paradise"; he has no neighbors to bother him and plenty of space to pursue his life's ambition - brewing. Grogs, ales, meads, and wine - nothing is beyond his skill to brew. What makes Gragas a truly special brewmaster, however, is his proximity to a large and powerful nexus.
The magic of this nexus has seeped into his fermented creations, and Gragas has consumed enough of his own poison over the years to slake the thirst of an army. This arcane alcohol has caused Gragas to swell both in height and girth; he looms over the tallest of men and boasts nearly twice their width. To complement his immoderate size, Gragas has developed an ornery temper - one fueled by liquor and raw magic. His infrequent sojourns into Noxus for supplies always unfold the same way: Gragas enters a Noxian tavern, Gragas gets into several fights, Gragas lays out countless citizens, and finally Gragas flees for the foothills with Noxian constables in hot - though reluctant - pursuit. His misadventures have garnered him the attention of several summoners in the League of Legends, and he is now a willing champion in the arenas...doling out hard liquor and harder fists.
"The Rabble Rouser leaves a path of drunken destruction in his wake, both in the Fields of Justice and off."
Pros / Cons
-Good Damage all over the game.
-Can easily handle AD carry's even meele's in meele range in the early and midgame.
-Strong on each lane (Mid/Norm/Solo)
-your ulti can decide a teamfight
-he is rly tanki
-He chases rly good
-he can charge through most walls
-He is hard to chase
-Low Cooldown on ulti
-You can also destroy the whole teamfight with your barrel or save sombodys life
-"Long" cooldowns on your abilitys
-Alcohol is bad MKAAAAY
The runes I take should only been taken by good Gragas players cause you will have mana problems. If you got mana problems take manaregenerations-seals. But in my opinion you should decide yourself which runes you take.
I dont have the classic caster masteries cause with these masteries you are rly tanki espeacially in the early game so you can play really aggressive when you are lvl 3 and i think I dont have to say anything to the points in the offensive tree
I choose that itembuilt cause you are rly tanki with it and you also have a huge dmg output.
I take the catalyst as first item cause it makes you realy strong in laning cause of it's passive. When you get feeded you can rush Rabadons or Mejais Soulstealer. I take Rylais cause it makes you less squishi and its rly good when you are chasing somebody. You can decide between Zhonya's and Banshees Veil when you get focused in teamfights i would prefere Zhonya's
but you have to decide on your own.
The most important Summoner Spell you need is flash some people would say you dont need it cause of your e skill but its rly important when to put yourself into the right positionto let them feal your full combo.
you dont need to pick ignite but i like it you also can choose ghost, exhaust or fortify (rly good when you shoot somebody into the tower with your ulti)
On the lane you should never waste a barrel only throw it when you know it will hit so go as near as possible to the enemy champion and throw your barrel to harres your enemys when you are lvl 6 use your ulti to throw your enemys to you and youse your e and q skill to nuke/slow him.
Also try to stay as long as possible on the lane and farm only with your auto attacks but you also can take some minions with your barrels when you are harresin the enemys champions.
Barrel Roll: Use it to harres the enemys on the lane
Drunken Rage: Use it to keep your live and mana up and dont use e offensive when you dont have Drunken Rage up.
Body Slam: Use it to slow the enemys champions. Use It to chase enemys. Use it to heal yourself. Use It to escape. Use it for everything be creative =)
Explosive Cask: Use your Ultimate to knock somebody in your team. Use it to split the enemys team in teamfights. Use it to save teammates. Use it to knock enemy champions into the tower and slow them with your e spell afterwards. When you are pissed just use it on minions and shout afterwards.
Passive you heal yourself after each spell you cast.
When your are near to an enemys champion use e afterwards q and if they have some abilitys to come away (like Kassadin's Riftwalk or flash) be sure you have got your ultimate ready to shoot them back to you.
When an enemys is far away and you now you could get him use your summoner flash to put yourself into the right position and afterwards e q r and throw him when its possible in a direction where he cant escape.
When you dont have flash ready use the passive of rylais and slow him with your barrels and start to chase him. when he gets in range throw him to you and finish him with your e q combo
I say thank you to all of you who read that guide and i hope i could help you and my english wasnt that bad so have fun and don't forget... It's time to Roll out the Barrel =)
