I have used this build because it seemed to make sense. I have not completed my ap rune set so I have adjusted from boots and 3 pots to cloth armor and 5pots. I am on a 4 win streak with amumu and have had a lot of fun. Thank you Bashdaddy.

But I start with boots, going philo right after is an option, but this build is for more aggressive damage at the start i.e the two doran's rings. The dorans rings also give some early tank.

I only get the armor before finishing Rylai's some games, if its going well I will rush Rylai's, sometimes even before upgrading boots. I personally dont think sunfire is good choice in the contect of this build as W gives you good damage, it is better on an Amumu that doesn't go as much AP, if you consider the AP runes/masteries and items the damage is already there. In my experience its better to get FH for the mana and CDR.

Great build, I like the early tankyness that this build acheives. Could use more bbcoding but the idea is there. A couple suggestions before the upvote, 1- change regrowth into a philo right after boots. 2- you've got the stuff to build a sunfire cape, build it to maximize damage per second. Other than that it looks good. Please take a look at my guide as well. It is here and waiting for your vote.

I used to run Regrowth Pendant into Philosophers Stone before starting boots. The only reason I switched was boots allowed me to go the Doran's Rings afterwards without having to finish the Stone. I think you slightly misunderstand the reason for Rylai's. The slow is not so much important to me, what is important is the combination of Tank and AP. It seems to me that if you rush it after two Doran's your health gets to the point that while you don't have pure tank items you still tank effectively because health is the easiest way to get tanky earlier. It just seems to be a timing window when I play I guess. After Rylai's its ALWAYS armor itme, usually a FH but that just seems habitual, I guess I prefer it but you're right in arguing Randuin's is a legitimate alternative

You also deal great damage with Rylai's 2 Dorans which I would argue is important outside of just using Q and R. I guess ironically I'm more inclined to max the other two first, E in any case, Q and W perhaps relatively evenly.

Thanks for the feedback, its much appreciated.

Nice Guide start. +1

However there are some things I like to mention. Firstly, junglers don't have much gold and therefore Philosopher's Stone and Heart of Gold are still my way to start. Secondly, while AP and MPen greatly increase your damage, you don't really need that as the crucial thing about mumu is to hit his ult and q. Enemies going through that bandagement should be dead regardless of your AP. While the slow from Rylai's Crystal Scepter is a nice effect, it is only applied with 15% on your W and E. If you want to slow, Randuin's Omen is still the best way. Generally tank-aura items like Aegis of the Legion, Abyssal Mask and Glacial Shroud plus active items (if you need them) like Randuin's Omen and Shurelya's Battlesong are worth more than AP items and I prefer them on Amumu.

Still your build works very well - you might emphasize more on buying MR/Armor before finishing your Rylai's. I've won several games with it, and I especially like the fast clear time. Furthermore I would advise you to hit the "archive" button on your other guide, since the two seem pretty much identical.

Hope this helps you, keep up the good work.

Why'd you make a new one?

Gonna copy from what I said before:

It's a good start. Maybe add more images and try to highlight important keywords so that they stand out and your guide will become easier to read. Also consider adding more item possibilities as one build usually doesn't fit all situations.

Yeah fixed the icon size. Don't know how I got down-voted, I mean the build does work. Guess he didn't look at my match history. Didn't even leave a comment, what a tool.

Nice Guide, might want to decrease the size of your icons though, looks a little messy. The build is a little unusual but I have seen it work on many occasions, not so much running Rylai's first but a similar concept. The two Doran's rings after boots is key.

Feel your pain about people flaming jungle when they don't understand basic concepts. Keep up the good work. One more thing Amumu just got his ratios nerfed so there are not quite so high. You should add that to your guide, guess it kind of proves that AP tank Amumu works though. Not that anyone who's any good would doubt it anyway I guess though lol
