Hello, you see olaf and think... Hmmm DPS!!!!, Well not really, if built right he can be a good tank. Not only can you tank! You can also deal out ALOT of damage, hence the item build.
Sit back, read the guide and enjoy!
Pros / Cons
Can hold lane well.
Great damage output.
You're ult can be used to escape or tank.
You can jungle at level 5-6 without smite.
Can be difficult learn.
You are kinda soft early game but you can fix this if you farm.
Greater Mark of Desolation: Great for the DPS aspect of this build.
Greater Glyph of Warding: Magic Resist is always good for tanks. :3
Greater Seal of Resilience: The armor really helps.
Greater Quintessence of Fortitude: Just some more health, you should have 700 or so starting out.
These runes seem to be good, but you can mix them up and go all health, or What ever! your choice, i just like this rune setup.
Why u no go defensive tree!?!?!?!...
Well, It is "Tanky DPS" So why would i go full in defensive? at late game (if you reach late game.) you have 4000 health and enough resistance to tank them.
So, 21 in offense for the DPS part, 1 in improved ghost so you can chase or get away if needed.
And 8 in defensive, so you can get more MR, AR, and some health regain.
The two summoner spells i use are Ghost and Exhaust.
These two are good, but some other good spells would be,
Flash, Getting away is always good.
Fortify, If you are the main tank you can get this.
-DO NOT CONSIDER...-
Heal, A waste of a summoner spell.... Use your "W" to heal.
Revive, Another waste, you shouldn't be dying alot.
Ignite, You shouldn't need this seeing as your damage output will be good enough.
Rally, Really? why?
Just pick stuff you might need and stay away from the others.
Items, The items i give are good... But you can lose the Phantom Dancer and get Guardian Angel if needed, but if you find the items i reccomend are good then :3 if not then =(
Basicly, if you need more MR then get more MR, if you need more AR then get thornmail or something.
And for the love of god, Don't build AP items.... You might think you're "W" = AP but no... It's Spell vamp, and honestly you do not need more spell vamp.... You're "W" should be enough to keep you up if needed.
Why do you not level "Q" (undertow) with your other abilities?
Well, it does good enough damage on it's own. It isn't needed because your "E" will do most of the damage.
Now, let's talk about some strategy.
If you are just using you're "E" and not "W" then "E" that's bad... You're "W" spell doesn't just give you spell vamp, it also gives you a little AD boost.
So you see a Ashe and want to kill her? Pop exhaust and "W" then "W" followed by a few auto attacks then dead..
You're ult's passive gives you Armor Penetration. AWESOME! Yea, but if you use it, it will reduce incoming damage, so if you are in a situation and you have to fight, pop it and go to town with you're team.
You're passive is great!!! The lower health you have, the more attack speed you get! and combined with you're ult's passive, major damage.
that is all i can think of for the moment.
When farming Undertow is a good ability, Why? Great damage output at rank one, so you can get creep kills with it, but mainly just auto attack.
You can jungle as Olaf, at level 5-6 you can take blue and red and start ganking.
Teamwork is key, even though you are a tank you can die.
If you rush in to all five of the opposing team 9 times out of 10 you will die, not even your ult will save you.
Try Exhausting there carry/best member and focus them! You're team should focus them when they see this person has been exhausted.
Teamwork is key in any game!
This build is ideal for the person who wants to try olaf, You can build him full dps but i prefer this build because i can actually help my team, and most times when i pick olaf no one picks tank so i have to tank for them.
Try this build and tell me how it is!
