Runes/Masteries

so for rune armor pen marks and and flat armor seals are a must. i can see hp regeneration seals but i feel the early game armor is very helpful if your solo top.

now i like cool down reduction glyphs but magic resistance works really well also that part is much more flexible i go with the CDR runes because i get some CDR in my mastery as well.

as for mastery you could go 30 in offense but i personally feel that deadliness and lethality wont help you all that much so you might as well use the extra points to boost your defense early game.

Items

getting boots to start makes you a threat early on for your ability to get in and out of fights with your ability in combination.

after boots you could just rush frozen or blood thirstier both are good picks just pick what ever you need at the time.

your next decision should be dependent upon what the other team has. if there rocking lots of AP go for a hex drinker, if its AD atma's would be the item you want. if they have a good mix of both you should try at get both. now if you feel you don't need the extra magic resist or armor go for a item like Last Wiper, Black Cleaver or Youmuu's Ghostblade. it will just stack with the large armor pen you already have from runes and mastery pages.

your last item should be a defensive item. i like taking warmag's just so i can get a charge out of atmas but other items like sunfire cape, randuins's omen, aegis of legion and guardian angel are all good picks as well.

Summoner Spells

Flash is good for getting in getting out. if you think you need that blink mobility take it.

Exhaust is great you only have one CC so having a extra slow that reduces armor is great to have.

Ignite Great trade for exhaust you get to stop regeneration and make 100% sure you get that kill

Teleport if you go solo top this is nice to have if you get counter picked and need to go back early game and it will get you into team fights and tower pushes that much faster.

Ghost If you don't like flash this will work it helps you get that kill or stay alive but you should have plenty of mobility.

Surge the attack speed is nice but the AP wont do a thing for you i would say this spell is not a good idea its a good spell but not for riven.

Cleanse this spell is ok not a bad pick but you should have the mobility to not need to take it however if there team has Lots of cc and you don't want to get quick silver or banshee's you might want to think about taking it. but for the most part you should not need it.

Heal not a bad spell you can change the out come of a fight with it but this is more of a support spell

Smite If you are going to jungle take it and change your boots into cloth and more pots.

Clairvoyance Let someone else take this spell
