With E's damage structure, how can u trade with other strong AP at mid?
Especially since you start with a ring with no potion

The skill to be looking at is Taric's W, not his E. While the stun will eventually become a valuable part of Taric's burst combo (and you won't even need to get TOO close for it to hurt BAD), early game it's mainly great to stop your target from easily putting out damage and for helping your jungler gank easier (which is why I don't fear annoying Kassadin or LeBlanc in mid with Taric, it's typically very easy to demolish them when they attempt to move close to me). We aren't looking at the armor shred or the passive, just the fact that unlike Dazzle it deals consistent damage, and in that sense ranking up Shatter is both a safer and wiser choice than trying to run into melee range to deal full stun damage... by the time you do pull that off you'd have taken more damage than you've dealt....

Level 1/2 Q will give Taric just about all the sustain he needs... he has a stun for bloody sakes, and AP Taric can use it both to deal damage and/or to screw up your enemy's burst combo so he deals less damage.

Playing it a little safe until most of Taric's combo is at your disposal is the way I typically win mid whenever I take him there.

This build is horrible! doesn't have enough info and is not funny. EVERYBODY knows that taric is built support not AP.

BTW everything i said there is the exact opposite of what i feel about your guide and how the average troll would sound. AMAZING guide keep up the good work and also i bought Taric(and his SUPER OP COSTUME!!!) just to try out this build =). also BTW what happened to Augment Death i found that to be the most OP item on taric especially when you use his death ray...

This build is amazing other then the fact that everyone thinks im crazy when i say taric can do more then just support.

Good build, got first blood from a foolish Morgana who thought that she could face my wrath ! But lost the game and the lane because their jungle GP babysat mid the whole time...

Reading this guide made me realize that all these months of playing Taric as support was why I was feeling like less of man. Taric for Men has awakened primal manliness within me and gotten me in touch with parts of myself I'd though lost. I bought Armor of the Fifth Age Taric after realizing that dazzling clothes really DO make the man. Thanks again for allowing Taric to expose himself to me this way, I'm forever changed.

P.S. I would say this is a great guide, well thought out, and humorously put together. But I wouldn't be doing it justice. I can simply say. BEST GUIDE EVER! +vote +rep

You have good ideas but you are very squish you should get some heal ( with Rylia's for example), because you cannot play like assasin When you hasn't great mobility or attack surprise tool.

Epicly epic taric build is epicly epic, never actually play Taric as anything other than AP now purely because of this build, t'is pretty satisfying to run upto someone 1v1.. They be all like.. " lulz, dis taric.. with his hair.. gonna smoke dis' foo."... Next thing.. *BAM* Dead... "wtf taric?!" , immense heals late game, and 3 offensive skills, why anyone would remotely questions the potency of this build is truly beyond me. I'd +2 this shiz if I could.. Hell, even +3. ;3
