Introduction

Taric is a resistant champion mainly played as a support. He has some good sustain on the lane thanks to his heal and his stun, which is a very good crowd control. He can be really aggressive on the botlane with his carry because the halo given by his W increases his allies' armour. During team fights he will easily come melee in order to burst with his ultimate and to boost his team.

Skill Usage

Taric's passive Gemcraft allows him to reduce the cooldown of his abilities by two seconds every time he attacks after using a spell as well as deal additional bonus damage. Try to weave in an autoattack after every spell in order to keep spamming your abilities quickly in succession and maximize damage.
If Taric targets himself with his heal, he'll be healed for 140%. Less selfishly, healing an ally will still heal Taric for 100% of the amount, effectively healing for 200%.
You can use the active of Shatter when attempting to play an aggressive early game or to last hit multiple minions at once.

Shatter is also very useful in team fights. Use the area of effect on the squishy enemies so your AD carry can kill them faster due to the armor reduction.
Using the active on Shatter will remove the passive bonus armor it provides (but you retain the passive armor aura). Make sure not to use it when being ganked or chased, as the loss of armor will make you easier to kill.
Taric can clear minion waves really fast with his Shatter.png Shatter and Radiance.png Radiance abilities.
When pushing out the lane with an AD carry, Shattering the backline caster minions (and cannon minion, if applicable) while your carry clears out the frontline. Done properly, your carry will be able to farm your softened minions with either a single ability or one auto attack each, allowing for an impressive push time.
TaricSquare.png Taric should usually Dazzle the enemy carry in a team fight so that they can be quickly killed by your team. TaricSquare.png Taric's Dazzle is difficult to see, however, so if there is more than one potential target, it's up to you to determine which enemy to stun, usually by pinging them. When coupled with SingedSquare.png Singed's Fling.png Fling or another repositioning ability, this can provide a clear advantage in a team fight.
Use Radiance.png Radiance during pushes or team fights to boost the damage of your teammates, but be careful not to activate it too early, as it is highly visible, so enemy champions may disengage and wait out the 10 seconds.
Radiance.png Radiance has a moderately large active radius. Because of this, consider using it to assist your teammates when they pursue enemies outside of your normal range.
Pairing TaricSquare.png Taric and another pushing hero such as SivirSquare.png Sivir together can make a very effective pushing duo.
Due to his slow movement speed and lack of any real escape/chase mechanisms (Dazzle.png Dazzle has a long cooldown and can be negated by such things as Banshee's Veil item.png Banshee's Veil, Black Shield.png Black Shield or Spell Shield.png Spell Shield, Cleanse.png Cleanse, etc.), Ghost.png Ghost and Flash.png Flash are both respectable choices for Taric's summoner spells.
Early game, TaricSquare.png Taric is relatively squishy. Stay clear of the enemy until you have taken Shatter.png Shatter and/or purchased survivability items.
Dazzle.png Dazzle used before or after another guaranteed stun/knockup will maximize the CC duration, allowing for a potential kill.
TaricSquare.png Taric is a great roamer with his stun Dazzle.png Dazzle allowing his team to set up ganks and stun-locking a target if your ally has a stun.
TaricSquare.png Taric can zone very well with his Dazzle.png Dazzle and by letting his lane partner farm while zoning the enemy off by sitting in the bushes at bottom lane.

Shatter's aura increases Taric's armor, which increases Shatter's aura. Stacks infinitely.
This means basically that 50 armor are 56.8 armor and not just 56 armor for Taric.
The armor aura is applied before or after Enchanted Armor mastery s4.png Enchanted Armor.

Items

Sightstone is the most important item on a support as well as face of the mountain
Also change to sweeping lens
After this go to boots of speed
You could also go for solari but anyway I leave it up to you as always :)

Boots and encharments

As for boots, buy them depending on
1) who are you facing in the lane
2) the cc the enemy team has
3) what you lack and need immidiately

As for the encharment, I go captain becasue it buffs the movement speed of allied champions so i think this will help mostly in late when chasing an enemy or when wanting to escape from a terrible situation.

Trinkets and wards

When you have bought sightstone sell the totem and pick sweeping lens
Also I forgot to mention that almost each time you go back to lane you should buy a pink ward and a vision ward in cases when your sightstone is out of wards and you need vision
