Not Updated For Current Season
**This is a build for me and my friends. Hopefully you find it helps.**
Also, this is my first guide with multiple champs and Team Recommendations, please be gentle and any constructive feedback would be much appreciated.
Hello, my name is Zakytor and this guide should help a little bit on any of the following:
Recommended Items Depending on Enemy Team
Malzahar is a great damage output as well as a great farmer, He can dish out a lot of damage before he takes too much, although he takes awhile to wind up. The next couple of sections should help you out if you play Malzahar.
Runes, Masteries, and Spells for Malzahar
For Malzahar, I prefer to use Magic Penetration Marks (A Caster's Bestfriend), Mana Regen per 5 Seals (Also a good friend), and Cooldown Glyphs and Quintessences. Since Malzahar is a long windup toy, its good to grab as much cooldown reduction as possible so he can dish out more damage.
As for masteries I go a slight variation to basic Caster Masteries, which can be changed to your own preferences.
And for spells I grab Teleport and Ghost, I feel that Malzahar does not run out of mana fast enough for a good use of Clarity, so it is really useless to him, but you may think differently.
Items for Malzahar
For Items with Malzahar I grab a Meki Pendant for the extra Mana Regen as well as a couple of potions so I don't have to run back as early in the game. Later, I pick up Tear of the Goddess so Mana is never an issue again. Grab some boots, which will later become Ionian Boots, and then a Soulstealer and begin your Killing Spree. For later on, Grab a Catalyst so you won't be as squishy and will have even more mana for your Archangel's Staff later on, as well as grabbing a Banshee's Veil, and the usual Rabadon's Deathcap and Morello's Evil Tome for the AP and Cooldowns. These items should be useful as a reference but for other recommended items I would grab a Rod of Ages instead of Banshee's Veil if they do not have many heavy casters or a Void Staff for the extra Magic Pen.
Pros / Cons (Conclusion) Of Malzahar
Very High Damage
Little Mana Issues
Voidlings can be a Nuisance to Enemies.
High Cooldowns on all moves
Major Target in Team Fights
For Poppy, I play her as a Tank, At the beginning of the game I play aggressive with her to gain some extra gold, but around level 6 you begin to play as a Tank. The next few chapters will talk about Poppy and her suggestions on how to play her.
Runes, Masteries, and Spells for Poppy
For runes with Poppy I grab Magic Penetration Marks (Since all of her moves deal Magic Damage), Dodge Seals (Very Standard Tank Runes), Magic Resistance per Level Glyphs (Also very standard), And Flat Health Quintessences. These are very standard Tanking runes, which is why I chose them.
For Masteries I grabbed a 9/21/0 trees that are a slight variation of standard tanking trees, grabbing reduced heal and also exhaust. These can be altered to meet your needs.
And lastly, For Spells I chose heal and exhaust. Heal so that you can keep tanking as long as you can, and exhaust so that your team can catch up to the enemies to finish them.
Items for Poppy
For Poppy start off with a Doran's Shield for the extra health. This can be replaced with Doran's Ring if you wish to get extra AP for the extra offense early game. Next grab Boots of Speed, which later become Mercury's Treads. Then grabbing a Phage and a Catalyst. Upgrade your Phage to a Frozen Hammer for the extra health and stunning effect. Grab a Banshee's Veil, which can be exchanged for a Rod of Ages if there are no heavy casters, and a Guardian Angel soon after. Pick up Warmog's Armor and an Abyssal Scepter for the extra AP and lower enemy Magic Resistance.
Pros / Cons (Conclusion) of Poppy
Very Good Tank who can Fountain Dive at some points.
Moderate Damage Output
Who wouldn't want to be a short tank?
Will Die Frequently (Tank's Job)
